• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Foot pegs and rear sprocket issue

Hey all,
Up here on Vancouver Island we can ride all year round, almost. However, 2 of us on the Spyder venture out on even the most miserable days. Now, we're discovering that the painted finish on the rear sprocket and the foot pegs is peeling. Anyone else noticed this happening yet? I know that the harsh winter wetness is probably to blame as a contributor to the problem, but it shouldn't happen! Any thoughts???

I realize that you don't get a lot of snow on the Island, but does your local municipality dump salt on the roads? Road salt is brutal here in southern Ontario, very hard on vehicle finishes and a major rust-producer! :'(

The fact that calcium chloride or other products are used on the roads is a moot point. The finish should not be coming off at 2300 km's and 2 1/2 months. I know what's causing it, just wondering if anyone else was using their machine in rotten weather like the 2 of us here. Maybe everyone else is just fair weather riders.

Fortunately I work in sales at the only Spyder shop on Vancouver Island. My mechanic is on top of the issue for me. My query was put out there to see if anyone else had seen the problem.
