• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just got my RT back from the dealership with new foglights installed - my buddy, who drove my car back said that the right fog light seemed to be flashing erratically as I rode behind him, he thought it was flickering on and off. I am sure that it was just the bouncing of the light up and down on our smooth highways.
I checked the lights by shining on my garage door from about 12 feet away and saw that the right fog light hits the door at least 6-8 inches higher than the left.
I know that there is no "user friendly" adjustment for aim, but do any of you know if I got to the bulb, could it be manipulated to change the aim?
The housings seem to be installed the same in the bodywork (the right is not cocked higher as best I can tell):helpsmilie:.

fog light aim...

I too have been trying to get info on adjusting the foglight beam... to no avail. The manual mentions an adjusting cable, and actually shows one in a picture. Lamont's "pre-production" RT has this cable installed, but they apparently decided to forego this in the production models.
The dealer I purched mine from (on line), told me that there were adjusting screws, but I have been unable to find them without removing the "snout". The fact that the assembly bolts rigidly to the body, you would think that there would be some way to adjust the beam.
I've tried to contact Carlo, but have gotten no response so far, and BRP on the phone... forget it. :gaah:
 
There is a screw (large, about 3/8" knurled knob) under the left and right removable pannels just forward of your foot position. The same pannel you'd remove to check your oil on the left side. right side is the same pannel. These adjust the headlights only. I don't think there is any adjustment for the driving/fog lights.

I just talked to my buddy at BRP and the adjustment screw is on the back of the light. You could hook a cable to it if you had one but they are suppose to be in adjustment from the factory.

Lamont, when you talk to him again, ask if the screw is under the bulb cover, or alongside of the cover... and which side, towards the center of the RT, or the outside.
It's hard to get a good look without removing most of the front tupperware, or removing the snout.
I wish that BRP had included a note with the installation instructions.

Upon further inspection...

Lamont, I took another look using an inspection mirror and was able to see what appears to be the "adjusting screw". It looks like a hex bolt head with an internal hex or torx fitting. Tomorrow I'll have to check the size, and see if it actually is the adjusting mechanism.

Good to know....

Over this weeked I'm swapping the H8 Fog halogens for HIDs. I'm just guessing that I'll want to aim them a bit after install.
 
Fog Lights

There is a accessable adjustment on the fog lights look on the inside edge of the bulb cover , the adj. screw will look different than the adjacent ones along the edge of the bulb cover, my wifes was an oct. 09 early production , and were uneven from the start I found by looking, now that we have switched to the 215/60-15 rear tire which is taller I need to readjust before we leave next week for Memphis. Hillister Tx.

fwiw, Turns out that this is a relatively easy job once you realize that all you need to is remove the two service panels under the hood. With them out of the way you can see the screw, and can guide an adjusting tool up from underneath. I wound up using a torx #25 socket adapter attached to a flex driver. The adjuster bolt is a hex head bolt with an internal hex socket, so I guess you could even use a standard external socket to turn it.

As you can see from the condition of mine, it's been hiding in the bottom of an old tool box for a very long time. I've probably got one of everyting, but finding it... that's another story. :ohyea:

No joke! I'm pretty sure Santa is bringing several things to get my 'tools' organized. I put it that way because I'm an electrical type guy. It was a HUGE and nervous step when I went to Northern Tool and got a torque wrench, Torx stuff, AND.... their motorcycle lift!!

In July I saw the Harbor Freight aluminum cycle lift priced at $149. Yesterday I noticed that it was priced at $199... just in time for Santa. :ohyea:
