FOBO TPMS battery question?

I installed FOBO TPMS on my RT this past April and all worked as advertised. When I tried to check pressure earlier this week I couldn't get any of them read out. First I tried to pair them again with the message unable to pair. Finally decided to check the batteries. One was completely dead and the other two were below 1 1/2 volts which is apparently to low to power the sensors. The initial voltage is 3 when new. I replaced all 3 batteries and all was back to normal. I did notice that the original batteries were from China which may have nothing to do with, what I consider, a fairly short life. What has been your experience with battery life on them. Thanks for any input you may have on this.

Small batteries like these seem to vary....

I just changed out a couple of ours on the front sensors with about a year life...

About nine months for all three on my F3 and 1year on my wife's F3. May not have been delivered fully charged.

My original batteries lasted about 7 months. I bought some cheap ones on Ebay and they only lasted 3 months.
I recommend you get a good brand not a knock off.

I am now using rechargables LIR 2032.
These work but you have to swap them out every 2 months.
I bought 10 of them and the charger so I can just swap them when needed.
But again... they only last 1.5 to 2 months.

Thanks for all your replies. I guess 7 months on the original batteries may not be out of line. Replacements I installed are a brand name & will see how long they last. :spyder2: will go in winter storage shortly and will see if the new batteries will survive the winter.

They actually come apart by "unscrewing" them... It can be a little tough as they come pretty tight.

I knew that part but getting it out of the cage was the hard part but the video showed how. I'm also going to invest in some good 'reader' glasses!

Not too old a thread to resurrect, and thanks Finless
Two of my original batteries are still good after 8 months, although they now show 2 bars. The third sensor shows 2 bars, battery reading 1.8v, and doesn't register on my Iphone. Swapped out the battery after doing the "disable/enable" thing, and now it's good.
Guess I can expect the other two to take a dive any day then :-(

I was considering buying the LIR 2032's but after reading they're only good for 2 months before swapping out, I'm wondering if it's worth the bother.
What do you think Bob (finless) ? Or anyone using the LIR's ?

EDIT :- Just been reading some reviews of the rechargeables and they're all over the place ! Battery life from 8 hours to 2 months - depending what they're being used for.

I have the fobo from lamont. I really like them but I make sure the app is not running when I am not riding.
Also if the battery goes dead just change battery and go to setting and go to clear memory and it resets.

Mines the FOBO, and I'm happy with it. Works as advertised and has definitely saved me many times on my knees to check the pressures.
Soon as I need new tires I WILL be getting the metal "T" shaped valve stems just to make it slightly less of a hassle putting air in.

And I just re-learned a valuable lesson --- one sensor battery goes bad -- change them ALL at the same time. :lecturef_smilie:

Seems the only place for T stems is from FOBO ? I'll keep searching.

I got FOBO for both my wifes Harley and my Spyder. Right off the bat I found some bad batteries on her set. Lamonster sends an extra set of batteries. Once those were gone I just went to Lowes and they have them in the battery area. I got a pack of duracell and they have been good since.
They are a common battery size so easy to find.
