There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Foamy oil

I'm new to the Spyder. When I checked my oil yesterday it measured a little high but the oil was all foamy. Is this natural? None of my other bike did this so was wondering if this is the norm? Thanks for any replies.

It's normal, Especially with the stock Can Am oil.

Not uncommon, especially with some brands of oil. It should dissipate quickly. Wait a few more seconds before you check it next time.

I have used both aimsoil and BRP oil and they both foam, but the BRP foams noticeably more. Scottys right just wait a minute before checking the oil and the foam will be gone.

It may be because I let my Spyder sit for at least a few minutes before checking my oil level. I am going to check right after riding it next time just to see how much foam there is.

Amsoil claims their oil foams less than most. All oil will foam some.

Mine was also very foamy and overfilled by the dealer. I extracted 1/4 of a quart and it's now up to the max line

If it was overfilled that much, unless you have the catch can or something similar, you may have oil in your airbox now.

Really? You let it sit a few minutes? I find that if I don't check mine within 60 seconds of turning it off I will get no reading on the stick.... just like it had been sitting for hours... of course I keep mine only about 1/4" up from the bottom of the stick.

Mine foams up as well. It's a pain checking the oil when that happens I'm going to let it sit a little while too. Another pain is the o-ring. Darn thing always comes off when removing the dipstick.

I always keep my up to the full mark. Since I put the glass catch filter in line I have not had any issues with oil in the air box.

I have never tried to check my oil right away after shutting down. Not sure where it would read.

I agree. I get the side panel off and get the rag ready, then re-start the bike (after coming in from a full ride to get it really hot), run it for a minute or so, shut down and check immediately. I keep it at halfway between max and min and get no foam. If overfilled at all, or even at the max, I remember seeing foam. As for checking, it does go down quickly. If I wait a minute, recheck, wait a minute, recheck, etc. I can watch the level go down. Starting out at the midpoint, in 10 minutes or so it will be down to the very bottom of the stick. When cold the next morning, it will be below the stick. Just my two cents.
