• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Floorborad question...

Very nice i dont know if these were available when i bought my isci floorboards i think you might like some highway pegs also that way you could stretch out on the long rides. I must say i use the highway pegs more than the boards themselves. By the way that color is alot better outside than when i saw it at the ims.

@ Doc... Your thread is what made me aware they even existed. Thank you! For some reason their website is suspended today... :dontknow:

@ Roger... I wanted the ISCI version. The problem for me was cost vs need. I need them now and do not have the time or funds to wait until I did. We put over $3500 in aftermarket stuff on this bike in the first three days... And we are trying to buy a home (PITA). So every nickle is watched right now for the bigger picture.

Anyway, for the very reason you mention... Foot pegs. I wanted the ability to add them later. And I still can with these. Most likely I will get the ESI ones

At this time I can say that these at half the cost of ISCI's they are a good buy. And allow the "Hug" feel (Legs hugging the bike in more of a seated position allowing for more leverage) when in use that my wife likes during spirited ryding. :ohyea:

I really like the location and comfort that they provide.

These looks very good. How much were them? The account looks likes suspended also for today.

Followup...

Their site is back up... http://www.sfbracing.net/

Service is great from Tric... Very happy in fact. I will also say that these have moved into my top three items to install on any Spyder that will ever be ours (Or until something better comes along)

These allow me to go... "Really? I need gas already!!" Instead of "Wholly crap hurry up already and drink the gas.... I need a break"... lol :ohyea::roflblack:

If your legs need more of a "Chair" position than tucked legs... I would suggest giving these a try. If I owned a dealership I would keep a black set in stock at all times... Because I know they would sell

I just thought and searched but I found nothing. I think that the brake lever would be nice to have little bit lower and maybe accessible from the floor?

Would this ISCI Fixed brake lever work with those sfb floors? (And of course, painted black :) ) Is there any other solution for that?

Oh yeah it would work. I plan later on to get this one because it is the flip up style. It cost $240. So it will wait a while....

That way on long trips I can fold my boot in under it. But still have a fast reaction time. I do have the ISCI Hand Break installed on this bike already...

Ok. I just quessing that with the cheaper one it would be also possible hold foot under that brake, but maybe not. Hard to say of those when only watching the pictures from those angels. I have quite big foots so ..

The handbrake would be amazing. When I had a testdrive with Spyder, I was just missing where is the brake. I am used to brake with hand with atv, maybe most of time and sometimes by foot. I did not understand why the expensive one is better if you have floorboards and handbrake, not so much differences in pics.

Understandable. It took me a bit to see the hinges on the more expensive one. Really that is designed for more of a safety issue and pegs, but I like the idea of being able to slide my boot under it when I feel the desire to. And that makes the additional cost worth it in the long run.

I figure my hands will always react faster than my booted foot ever will. That and my brain is programed for the hand brake. Just make my personal ryding a more pleasurable experience.

IWN2RYD,

Before I make my purchase, I have two easy questions. Does the 'C' clip under the stock foot peg have a tendency to pop right off and go flying and cause hunting or purchasing a new one? Any other little parts that I need to be aware of?

Aaaa, now I understood, the hinged version is possible to push up position and it's not in way of your foot. Stupid me :)

How many inches there is between the lever and the floor? Looks like that I could have my shoe under that lever, but maybe not.

Oh yeah.. Anything with tension has that ability. But I have worked with them so many times I know a few tricks. One being...

Using Lineman Pliers in one hand, and a gloved hand placed behind the pin to keep the impact of the clip from traveling beyond my eyeball range. (Not to mention the potential slip of my other hand and wanting to protect my skin if it happens)

So far I am batting 100% using that method. And yes. I have three different actual clip tools. And find this to be the best method for my experience.

Other than that just LockTight (They should include it to be honest but do not) i see no need for anything else but your music and preferred beverage :ohyea:

I believe these have actually been designed to allow for your boot to fit under it. We will have to ask a fellow member to give us a camera shot of that as I do not yet own one.

However. Think on it for a second. If your boot is under it. Will you have enough time in an emergency to pull your boot out (One motion) lift up (Second motion) and the move forward (Third motion) to apply the brakes?

Vs. two motions of lift and press...

I bet the difference is negligible. Until your boot gets caught, slowed or even obstructed from being able to come out at all.

Remember... These floorboards I installed have the Peg still And ISCI designed there brake with their floorboard in mind that does not have any pegs. Allowing for more room for these kinds of situations.

Would love to have the pegs in place, and that extended brake lever. But we will see how things goes.

And I am not sure of the reaction time if the boot is under the lever. Maybe I should only use that place only for long trips. Ok, maybe some reindeer or something will come to front of me, but..

Under " My Mods " see eff's mods .....

Noob alert!!!!

How do we find this "Mods" area? I look and look and look on our profile pages and never seem to find it. Then I search forever in the pics area and seem to forget why I was there after a while :roflblack:

Is there a link that I am overlooking that will take us right to the Members albums and pics instead of weeding through all of them? :dontknow:
