• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fixing Spyderpops Stainless Steel Kott Grilles

I had my dealer fit the Spyderpops Stainless Steel Kott Grilles

I was cleaning them and some blocks had come loose – The blocks are quite small and the Grilles are secured by small screws

I decided I wanted to make them more secure

I Purchased the following Items :-

Black Plastic blocks We call them Modesty Block they are used to fix Furniture and shelves

Them haves 2 holes on one side an 1 hole on the other side

Black Cable Ties (Zip ties I think you call them) these were as follows

COLOUR: BLACK
PACK OF: 200
SIZE: 3.6mm x 370mm

You need long ones to allow you to put the Cable ties through the Grilles and the Blocks then you can pull up the Cable Ties to secure the Grilles to the Blocks

I stuck 4 Modesty Blocks to the Spyder each side as per Spyderpops instructions using 3M Automotive Foam tape

The bottom blocks were stuck to allow 2 holes to be used as this give some adjustment and the top
blocks had just the one hole showing

I then put the cable tie through the grille and then in the holes in the blocks and connected them up
allowing for enough room to put all 4 together
Once all 4 and connected I just placed the grill as shown by Spyderpops instructions and pulled them up tight to secure the Grilles to the blocks

Once they were secure I cut off the excess cable tie

I have posted some pictures to show the results

Should I need to I can cut the cable ties and use new ones to reattach the grilles the blocks just remain in place

Thanks for posting about the situation. The same thing happened to me. My KOTT grills remain uninstalled.

I talked to Spyderpops at the last Daytona meet, due to the fact I had the same issue. All I did was bought some 3M tape, cleaned off the old, and cleaned off all areas with alcohol. They have been fine since.

Harvey thinks some Spyders leave the factory with excess mold release. It's a small percentage in his opinion ( not speaking for him, just recalling the conversation ). I tend to agree, and some extra cleaning seemed to solve the problem.

I had one block come loose, cleaned and reinstalled and it's been good ever since. In the FWIW category with 7,400 miles on the Spyder including the trip to/from Spyderfest the KOTT Grilles have done a great job. There's next to nothing between them and the BRP grills and both radiators are virtually spotless. I've ridden through a lot of highway median and shoulder mowing to boot.
