• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I went to an open parking lot and did what you are doing and ya have to do that when ya first get one to get the feel and the hang of it. But bless me I have a husband that rides everyday and he he helped me and now I ride!!!! Cain't wait to get on it again!!!!!! :welcome:

:congrats: on you first step! I started with figure 8's in my drive and backing up for a month until I was able to get the MSF course completed. Now start making wider and wider circles around your neighborhood, then town, then state, then.....

I hope you get to feeling well enough to ryde again very soon. Just be sure to tell Raptor to take it easy on you when you first start out again. You don't need to try to keep us with his power sliding shenanigans. :D

:welcome: and :congrats: on the ride. If your new to rydeing--most people find 250 or so miles and you will be comfortable. If you have previous 2-wheel experience--it took about 500 miles for me.

:spyder2: is very sensitive to inputs. Overcontrolling gets you all over the road. See how lightly you can move the handlebars to affect a turn.

Your going to love it once you get comfortable.

:welcome: :congrats: on your:spyder2: -- I to was totally new to the world of motorcycling when I bought my :f_spider:. I was awful for the first day - wife road behind me in the car and said she just knew I was going to destroy it -- but as the day went on it became easier and easier to ryde -- learn to relax your shoulders and hands the lighter the touch the better it rydes. Good luck and lotsa spydering miles full of fun and enjoyment

:welcome:

I will never forget my husband asking me " do you want it ? "
.. I was very nervous ... it was a lot of money & I couldn't test drive it because the dealership didn't allow it .. but I said "yes" .. he drove it home for me then I just started out the same way, up & down the street, then around the neighborhood, then to and from work each day, then hit the highway, met some other great people that ride spyders & never have regretted a moment ! It is an addiction ........

:2thumbs: My wife asked if she could try ryding mine a couple weeks after I got it. 1 month later she had her own. Funny how things work out sometimes.

I bought a Suzuki for a change of pace and, 1 month later, my wife had her MC endorsement and I no longer "own" a Spyder!

Ditto! Got mine in August, the first week of December she took mine for a test ride around the neighborhood, two weeks later I was on a plane headed to Phoenix to pick up her "new" used RT-AC and drive it home. She's now got over 4,200 miles racked up and can't get enough!!:clap::yes:
