• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting ready to load my RT on the trailer to take it to the dealer for 4600 mile checkup. The wife decides she wants to take it around the block a few times before loading. I said go ahead while I get the trailer ready.
She returns without any problems and parks the bike in the garage. After I have the trailer ready she goes to get it and bring it out for me to load on the trailer. She goes to release the parking brake and the orange screen pops up and sais brake failure. The brake is released so I go ahead and drive it onto the trailer. All set to go to the dealer, guess I'll have them check it out. I'm sure it will show up in the codes. Brake fluid checked OK. Any one else experienced this? I accused the wife of breaking my Spyder, ;).

Parking Brake

I've had this happen 4 times in the past. Twice at the owners event. The parking brake cable came off its pulley. Have the dealer put some cable lubricant on the parking brake cable, both at the pulley, and at the wheel to stop this from happening. If you wanted to do this yourself, you'll have to take off all of the Tupperware off the right side to get at the front pulley. There is a fix in the how-to section to stop this from happening again, if your adventurous.

Little checking..!!

in many cases it is in the cable routing and or adjustment. Brake fluid is another but you checked that. Glad this happened on the way to the dealer they can run that down for you...

You might want to double check the brake fluid level. It often looks adequate when it is just a tiny bit low. A tiny bit can trigger a warning.

Ok Heres the Low Down on the 4600 mile service

You might want to double check the brake fluid level. It often looks adequate when it is just a tiny bit low. A tiny bit can trigger a warning.

The Brake fluid was a bit low, and evidently the culprit to the first code I've gotten. Service tech said the RT is very picky when it comes to brake fluid levels. Just a bit off and it will trigger the code. He did check the parking brake cable as well. Took the RT in this past Saturday.

The Service tech performed the 4600 mile service check list. everything was good. Did have a significant amount of oil in the air chamber (might have overfilled a bit). I had noticed a little burnt oil smell. They got that all cleaned up, and stated some of this was normal. Told me to install my K&N (which i'm sure they would have done had I brought it with me). Said this would improve my mileage a little. Been getting about 28 mpg.

A quick alignment check (BRP style) all was good. Did not get the laser allignment at this time, but did talk to the service manager about it. Handling so well I didn't feel the need to have it done. The service manager did remember during our conversation, that I was the one they had put the new BRP shocks upgrade on the front, when they did the heat issue recall work. Believe he stated I was the first at the dealership to get them and said he has had many good conversations about them.

Warranty work included, removing the front end and unwrapping the fuse panel harness and sealing the harness and the fuse panel, due to a bulletin on water getting into the system and causing problems. There was one other service bulletin issued, but can't remember what it was. It was also taken care of.

I do have a faulty turn signal switch (mostly affects the left turn signal) The service manager was going to replace, but didn't have one in stock. He has ordered one, and told me to give him a heads up next time I'm that direction, and he will make sure he has one, and will replace it then. Just takes a couple of bumps at this time to activate the left turn signal.

The service tech did mention my tire pressures were somewhat low and unevenly pressured (Been setting a while since last ride before trailering to the dealership), and told me to keep a closer check on the brake fluid, and I shouldn't have any more error codes.

They did have a 2014 on the floor, and I got to check it out. They have a shipment of 2014's, still boxed up at their location ready for assembly.

Haven't had a chance to ride the RT, due to getting Iced in. Good thing I trailered it the 300 miles to the dealership. Almost had to stay an extra night due to Ice and snow. Here it is Tuesday and still Icy. Looks like bad weather through Thursday. Wish ya'll would keep the Ice and Snow up north. Hey but we need the moisture, as we are awful dry out here in west Texas.

Happy Riding :yes::yes:

cable pully

I just had brake pads (rear) done at the dealer when he started the emergency brake cable came off the pulley. It is a plastic pulley and the shaft hole is egged out making it a problem. This pulley is on order but I guess the worst that could happen would be you could not use the emergency brake?
