• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First mod.....cat delete?

Today we just bought a 19 RTL and I would like to start with the mods already. When deleting the cat. is there anything I need to do to the ecm? I've read that if you let the engine idle for 15 min the ecm will change things on is own....Is this true? Or do I need to some kind of reflash or anything else?

Thanks for your time and help!!

Nothing to do to the ECM. Take the cat out, let the engine idle for around ten minutes to let the RTL computer reprogram.

:agree: I've done a few now. The process is really Simple As! ;) Remove the cat; install delete pipe; start & let engine idle for a while (I've been told 15 mins too, but probably only ever manage to last about 10 mins with no apparent ill effects - yeah, I know, I'm a tad impatient. :dontknow: ) Then go for a ryde! :D It probably does pay to start a little gently, then work back up to normal ryding over the next 20 miles or so, maybe even over that tank of gas' worth. But the ECM on any modern engine really is pretty smart, and with all the sensors engines have to allow them to run cleanly & economically, it usually won't take a whole lot of time for the ECM to re-learn & refine all the engine operation parameters it controls after such a relatively minor change as installing a variation to the exhaust gas flow.

Now get out there & Ryde! :ohyea:
