• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

You say these issues have been part of the Spyder since 2008, yet in numerous polls on this forum, it has been a small minority who have complained.
I'm not saying they don't exist, but people tend to make mountains out of molehills. Before you take me out of context, which I'm sure you are itching to do, let me clarify... Fire is bad, but it happens. The question is how many times has it happened compared to units sold. I'm sure Honda, Harley, Chevy, Dodge, Ford, etc... have NEVER had a vehicle burn... Should we knock their doors down with torches and pitchforks too?
It's all a matter of perspective... Like Ronald Reagan said..."It's a recession if your neighbor loses his job, it's a depression if you lose yours."
I agree that this warrants investigation, but if the occurrence is in the low percentage of total units, the investigation will take some time, and that is only if the frequency is high enough to say that there is a problem.

I hope that 2 2013 RT's burning to the ground in a matter of a couple months, and the numerous melted parts on the ST's have got their attention... It would have gotten mine if I sat in one of those offices.

dave, first off NONE of my comments were directed at you until you asked me "what do you want". Second, I'm not looking to take you out of context nor do i have a beef on anything you said looking at it from the corporate side. So, i'm not sure where your comments are coming from regarding the context remark directed at me.

But, I will use your words: "Fire is bad, but it happens. The question is how many times has it happened compared to units sold"

Risk/Reward, Exactly BRP's apparent position. Spyders are just as hot as ever, and now more fires. So we actually agree:p

This thread has now "jumped the shark" :banghead: :bdh:
Maybe it should just be clamped down until everybody, (AND their overheated bikes :D), can cool down a bit...

Yup,

Up to a few days ago, SL was a pretty friendly place. Now, it looks no different than any other forum I avoid.
