• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Finished lots of upgrades and farkles and now have Front End Wobble

Shaking is still there!

Well the shaking is still happening. It is almost all the time now when my speed is 42 to 54 MPH. Adding Rode-On seemed to dampen the shaking and slightly change the speed it occurs down a few MPH but it did not stop it. While in Maggie Valley riding the Tail of the Dragon my speed was right in the range where it was the worst. You could visibly watch the tires shaking :yikes: and feel it in the hand grips. Even the windshield would shake. On the way back to our campground I took the Spyder to a tire dealer. The guy that did the tires owned the motorcycle shop next door to the tire place. The wheel weights were removed and the tires were spin balanced and new weights were added. He spun the tires are a fairly high rate for a while to distribute the ride-on. The new weights were in a slightly different location and a different combination of weight, but the machine indicated balance. The good thing was he only charged us $10 to do both tires. :ohyea: The bad thing is it did not cure the shaking. :gaah: The shaking speed move up to where it is now (42 - 54). It is not quite as bad, but is is still noticeableicable and quite annoying.

So now in a fit of desperation last night I ordered new tires.

I ordered General Altimax 185/60R14 that some of the other forum members are using. They are a direction tread much like the factory tires and get good reviews here on the forum. Walmart had them online with store pick-up for $69 each. I should have them by the end of next week. I'll update this thread when I get them installed and tested.

Sounds very frustrating. It might even be a slight cord separation issue, and there have been rare cases of out of round wheels too.

I hope the new tires fix your issues. But if they do not, I highly recommend taking it to a good Spyder dealer and have a good mechanic ride it. Something is definitely wrong (DUH!) and it might save you time and money to get it diagnosed rather than throwing parts at it.

I wish you the best of luck...

I might be wrong in this but I think ride-on balances the tires by them selfs. You might remove the weights on tires see if that fixes the shake

I wish you the Best of Luck!! Mine is still there at 40-42 BUT only very occasionally . Let us know-There are many with this problem to different degrees!!!
