Choked on my coffee when I read this . . . as it was uttered, I mean YELLED by the 1/Sgt on my first day in the police academy. Imagine a gym full of scared sh*tless "Trooper Candidates" all looking around and wondering WTF??? I hadn't heard it again until I read this post . . . . talk about a flashback!

Actually does make sense though. All the “A’s” get together, then line up by height, then the “B’s”….. why you would do this though I haven’t a clue…

When I got off the bus at Basic Training, the Sgt yelled something similar to that, and it didn't bother me a bit. My father was a Marine Sgt and I had been hearing things like that all my life.

One I recall from a similar time in my life is:

"Stop looking at me in that tone of voice or I'll deafen your eyeballs!" :shocked:

I'm pretty sure that I wasn't alone in not getting it then, but I can guarantee that from there on, none of us ever looked anywhere but directly ahead for the remainder of our training!

That particular Instructor (great guy actually) called me aside as we broke formation after marching off from our Graduation Parade, just so he could claim to be the first to salute me, and I was sorely tempted to ask him what he meant.... but still didn't have the guts at the time; and then sorta never had an opportunity later on, cos things got pretty intense very soon after and he wasn't around to ask anymore.
