• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone ordered the mantis fairing or RT package from Marcel? It looks pretty good imho.Check it out at spyderwindshields.com.Any feedback would be welcome because I was ready to buy the Corbin bags untill I stumbled on this today.

Fairing looks pretty decent-- just not a look I'm after. The bags are vaporware-- those were photoshopped.

I doubt the bag quality would be anywhere near that of the Corbins.

I see he's still accusing BRP of stealing his windshield designs---:roflblack:

I suppose now he'll claim they stole the whole RT idea from him---:roflblack:

I wish someone would make a fairing w/ a stereo system built in - they make those for 2 wheelers.

Wonder if MM can engineer one up?!

:agree: It looks like the F1 comes with speakers and you can get a radio as an option.I thought I saw another fairing from Europe but I can't find the website.

You have to love the typos throughout their website!!! Very professional. :roflblack:

He is from France! He does a lot better than at-least 50% of the folks that post on the two Spyder forums -- who pretend to write in American English. I grant that the forums are different than a website -- but, there are a lot worse out there. Judge the products not the spelling and language -- even if you have issues with his approach. His manners are impeccable as I see it so far -- which I cannot say about every poster.

Your comment is your opinion -- but, rude!

If we worried about this and commented on spelling and grammer every time it was appropriate -- it would deteriorate down to our only subject.

Not to be controversial, but BRP is indeed coming hard "Microsoft style" after the market of third party accessories providers. But accessories are high margin, and business is business...:dontknow:

Running the spellcheck takes a few minutes. I agree with you about foorum posters, but this is a business. If you overlook the quality of your writing do you also overlook quality control?

Just my $0.02.

Yeah-- and I know he's from overseas-- but I think he's been in the US for quite some time now.:dontknow:

The have a different way of selling products-- that's for sure. Continual bragging about being the 'best' and the 'first' , etc. is a big turn off for me as a consumer. Let the products speak for themself. Seems a bit sneaky to call his setup the 'RT'--- hope no one gets confused and thinks they can basically have an RT just for adding $3,500 worth of plastic.

His forum cracks me up--- it's obvious when he uses various user names to ask questions he wants himself to answer. You know-- pretend to be a customer with a question--- and then come on and answer it with his offical user name. Same English and grammar mistakes, etc...

The Fairing looks pretty decent-- and you can do speakers, etc.--- but it's not a look I'm after. I would make sure and see one in person to check the quality before ordering one. It may work for a lot of people that don't want to step up to the RT.

Yeah-- I get that BRP is doing a bit of a MS play-- but I can't say I blame them for some of it. Looks like with the RT they added LED lights for example - which obviously *could* cut into aftermarket add-ons--- but then again I can't fault them for giving the customers what they want.

I'm sure they'll be plenty of things people will want to add to the RT also--- but I'll be darned if I can think of any!

fairing and brp

i have an EVO II on my spyder from F1 and it works 10 times better than the memphis shades i have on my HONDA VTX. F1 has the MANTIS fairing
and if mine and a lot of others experience with F1, carries through, not only does it look great, but it will work great too.
lets give our support to the AFTERMARKET, if it wasn't for NO MAGIC MAN, MELS MONSTER GARAGE, F1 SPYDER WINDSHIELDS, AND LAMONT. we would be stuck taking a bath on trade in from our spyder dealer and
BRP.
PS. i forgot ken at EVOLUZIONE.

IMO, if you come out posting about someone else's spelling mistakes, you better be sure what you post doesn't have those types of mistakes. :lecturef_smilie:

I just do not like how he Introduced his "RT" with photo shopped goldwing cases after BRP RT info was leaked. Of course RT is not a registered trade mark but I feel it does not much show class in his part and even unethical.
I have his slider and that's worked out well.

:agree:

I mentioned this when he did it and took some heat for doing so-- but I really think it was in poor taste to claim it was an "RT"--- obviously done to confuse people or beat BRP to the punch. The fairing looks 'okay' and seems functional-- but many of his other products have had quality and production issues in my opinion. My personal feeling is the F1 slider is a lawsuit just waiting to happen. Two metal bars pointing right at the rider is a recipe for disaster during an accident IMO.

another glass house heard from

Au contraire mon frere! (sorry Bersquack, I could not resist)

Yes, as a former teacher, I sometimes want to take a red pen to postings and internet sites, but, in Marcel's case, it passes on its charm. I would be so thankful if I was considered one quarter as charming when I stumble through Navajo or Spanish.

I agree with Firefly, not the look I am going after, but neither are a lot of the after market products I see owners putting on their Spyders. Though I do really like 3wheeldemon's gun rack. Style and taste is a very personal thing, follow your heart as far as your wallet will take you. I am for letting others spend their money for the look they want.

I am always surprised though, when certain vendors are brought up by new people on the forum, a certain snideness quickly rises to the surface. It would be nice to keep it to issues of performance, quality of the product, and business practices. As customers and consumers, that is one way we can tell businesses what we want and get better products and service.

:agree: It would be a delight if the snide comments, whining, and bickering could disappear. It hurt to see so many people who are apparently so unhappy. C'mon folks, if we make a strong effort, I'm sure we can make this board positive again. This sniping is no darned fun.
