• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

First I apologize for not knowing how to speak in English.
My name is David and I write from Spain. I own a Spyder Can-am for 6 months is 8,200 kilometers. This weekend driving on winding roads and I got the message on the screen that acontinuación see in the video I recorded. If I stop the engine and wait 2 minutes the message vanish, but it comes back as I make a sudden stop or go into action controls stability.
Has anyone had this problem or knows what happens?

Thank you very much and greetings from Spain.

The messages that appear on the screen are:

- Protection
- ABS FAILURE
- FAILURE VSS

Hi David and welcome. I haven't had but one problem twice with the DPS and both times it needed replacing. Have you had all the updates done? There are 3 out that I know of. My Spyder was just in the shop and all the codes were cleared that came up on BUDS and the updates checked and ECM updated.

I know you'll get more than I can tell you about these Spyder's and am sure Scotty will chime in, once he gets his first cup of coffee down.:roflblack:

Were any of the winding roads you were ryding on banked steeply, or did a front wheel leave the ground? I had this same issue when I attempted to run up the bank in the center of a turn on the Daytona Speedway.

First thing I would try is to leave it turned off for at least 5 minutes, as that is what Kurt from BRP told me to do with mine when it happened. Hopefully the messages will clear themselves at that time.

You may also want to make sure your brake lights are working. If you blew the fuse for the brake lights, everything will be fine until you get on the brakes a little hard, and then a bunch of messages like this appear. I had a short in my license plate light wire that caused this issue for me.

If all of that looks good, then I would turn the key on and off 3 times in a row. This is supposed to reboot the computer on the Spyder, and appears to have been doing the job of fixing various issues lately.

Finally, make sure all of your fuses are properly seated in the fuse panels, and your battery connections are clean and tight.

I hope that gives you some things to look into, and helps clear up the issue as well.

First thing I would check would be the #2 main relay and make sure you have a full charge on your battery. Have you added anything like HID lights?

:chat: Welcome, I have that same problem every time my tail/brake light fuse fails. Try replacing that and see what happens.
Hint: carry extra fuses and relays every time you go out.
Good Luck

:agree: Also, check your brake fluid level. The Spyder is very sensitive to that. Even when it looks full, it may need topping off. Low brake fluid can cause an ABS failure (fallo de ABS), which triggers VSS (fallo de VSS) and DPS (comprobar DPS) faults...and limp mode (modo de protection).

Cable was the license plate light. Had touched the wheel and melted the fuse number 7.
