• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Factory warranty

The factory warranty is about to expire. What is the reliability of 2016 RT after 10,000 miles? Should I renew?

You can't "renew" but you can shop around for the best price on a B.E.S.T. extended warranty from BRP. Try Bert's MegaMall or other high volume dealers. You must purchase before your original 2-year factory warranty expires.

The warranty extension is a "crap shoot." Eventually, most people are tagged for a large repair or more. If money is an issue, the extra protection of a warranty is advised.

BEST is the best way to go--IMO. You must renew the extended prior to your original warranty expiring. Other brands are also a "crap shoot"--IMO. Jay Bros. gave good advice about Berts.

Over ownership on five :ani29:'s, I was given a free extended warranty with the purchase of my 2014. It expired April 30 of this year. I have yet to have to use the warranty on any of my five :f_spider:'s. Been lucky.

Agree...

:agree: there are others out there but you see most go for the BEST as long as they get it on time. Otherwise you need to shop with the others...

32k miles. Oil pump drive gear needle bearings disintegrate and take out the rest of the engine. Total loss. 2 weeks later NEW 2018 complete engine, trans and clutch assembly en route from warehouse to replace. Bill will be well over $10k to repair. BRP checked a few things and had some discussions but approved the claim very promptly once things checked out.

Had it not been for BEST, the bike would be scrap. Yea, its my bike and I hope to ride it again in a couple more weeks. Get the BEST warranty.

:agree: like JayBros says, u must purchase your B.E.S.T before your 2 -year factory warranty expires.

I did in 2016, on my 2014 RTS-SE6. I bought the B.E.S.T. extended warranty thru my dealership, before my original manufactures warranty expired.

Yep, me too, saved my bacon more than once with all the repairs needed to the 2013 "White Lemon". For a $50 dollar deductible, you can get Thousands of dollars worth of work done. BEST is absolutely the way to go. Bought mine from Bert's, will most likely buy from them again for my 2017.

In addition to the above, you can get the B.E.S.T. warranty extended to a full 5 years from date the vehicle was first put into service. Often dealers will provide an additional 1 year B.E.S.T. coverage that tags onto the original 2 year factory warranty. This is usually done as an additional incentive for the original purchaser. If that is the case, you can have the B.E.S.T. extended for another 2 years. If you only have the original factory 2 year warranty, you can purchase the B.E.S.T. for 1, 2, or 3 years. But, in all cases, you must purchase the extension before any existing warranty expires.

Another reasin to purchase the warranty is for resale, they transfer for free. I was easily able to sell my 14 RT with 123,000 miles as the Best warranty was good for 19 more months.

How many times can you renew the best warranty? My 2015 RTL is under best warranty until April of 2019. Can I renew it for another 3 years?

BEST has come in handy on my '13 as well from lil things (loose hose clamp) to the more major (intake gasket) & happily over 50k miles now more to go, won't shop for new Spyder til 100k
