• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anybody traded in their RT for the F3T ? If so what do you think ? Bad choice or good especially for two up ? I know there is less luggage space but I use a trailer anyway for long distance touring. Appreciate any comments. Thanks

Depends

If you and your passenger are little folks, and my wife and I are, you can get away with two up on an F3. We have only done it once when we had the RT in the shop. The seat on the RT for a passenger is WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY more comfortable. I would add and F3T but I would not trade an RT for it if I was going to ryde 2 up. JMHO!

As I see it...

This would be a passenger question more that a driver. It's like a harley where they toss a bean bag on the rear fender and call it a passenger seat. :roflblack: jmho I don't think they spent much time on making the passenger comfortable on the F3 even the RS is better.....

I have an F3T currently. I did not trade in an RT, but my wife and I tried one out. She says that the passenger seat of the F3T is just fine. Does it have all the bells and whistles of the RT? No. But we have done trips with 3 hour increments with no problems. And we're not exactly spring chickens. The bike handles 2up no problem. She even says she is able to stretch her legs. My advice? Go put her on the back of a test ride.......

I sold my 2014 RT Limited and bought a 2016 F3 Limited. I ride one up. My wife sold her 2014 RT-S and bought a 2016 F3 Limited, too. She also rides one up.

As much as I like my F3L, it's no RT L. It's kind of like going from a full size luxury sedan to a sports car for your daily driver. It takes a little getting used to.

I can tell you this, if my wife didn't have her own Spyder I would have never gone to an F3L. In my opinion, the back seat is not fit for a passenger and I feel it would be dangerous. Even with a backrest, I can't imagine the passenger feeling secure. Outside of an emergency, I would never put my wife on the back of my F3L.

On the other hand, the passenger seat on the RT is far more thicker and I assume more comfortable for a passenger. The backrest/trunk envelops your passenger and is much more secure.

Unless you're both getting the F3's, I'd say stay with the RT.

Remember, this is my opinion.

Good luck with your decision.

Well as the old saying goes to each their own an everyone has an opinion. I ride two-up about 98% of the time! Sold my BMW RT with 98000 enjoyable miles. Bought a 2011RT put about 24000 on it and even bought a trailer. Traded my RT and bought a F3 at request of my wife and she likes the F3 wwwwwwwaaaaay more than the RT we have about 19k on the F3. Wife says the F3 is more comfortable than the RT guess I'll have to tell her she's mistaken!
So be your own Judge everyone is different.

I just traded my 2015 RT Limited for a F3T this past Saturday. My saying is this now "once you go F3, you will never go back". 228 miles and counting.

1000 Miles

Just passed 1000 miles on the F3LTD! Had an absolutely amazing ryde up to Lake Tahoe on Saturday and the F3 climbs mountains lke they were prairies. Going up some real steep inclines like it was nothing, and I got close to 40 miles per gallon on that run up highway 80. Drove on the west shore from the north shore to the south shore and had just an incredible view of the lake! Then down the twisties of Highway 50 back down to the valley below! Just awesome! This is a truly wonderful machine!

With a good back rest on the F3T she is as safe as a RT - same grips - pegs you couldn't get my old lady off that seat when we're moving lol

My wife is a lot more comfortable on my f3's with Cannonball seats & a backrest than she is on my Stage 2 turbo Hayabusa 530lb bike with 343 rwhp & 212# torque--plus when I get to our destination she is still on the rear seat. Remember--I'm always here to help with these decisions.
