• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3T Spark plugs

Has anyone replaced the spark plugs on their F3? I have 31K on the bike and service says change at 29K. How much of the plastic needs to come off? Any short cuts?

yup

yup.....
i did my F3 this past March.... took me 2 days, 5 hrs each day.... @ 70 yrs old, it's a killer....

you'll need to take off the entire upper Tupperware... left front headlite, air-box.... NOT FUN... :gaah:

while you're at it, get a FUEL FILTER... b'kuz it's basically the same process to replace that little thing...

mine had 41,000 miles of smiles on her when i changed those 3 little buggers... and i'm here to tell you that the plugs i pulled out still look in EXCELLENT CONDITION.... the OEM plugs are 'iridium' plugs, and in my book, they're good for 100,000 miles of riding...
however, the book says to R&R them @ 28K....

I replaced a set that had over 60k on them and still not worn, were clean and the gap in spec. For me, if the bike is running and idling smoothly, the plugs are fine.

On my '14 RT I replaced mine at 40k miles and once removed they were noticeably worn and in need of replacement. I can't account for the differences between bikes. As stated BRP use Iridium tipped plugs that in theory should last 100k miles. However, on my bike there is no way they would have lasted even 50k miles, they were that badly worn. :dontknow:

Plug change..

After watching the video..I'll wait until I see a performance problem..and replace the fuel filter at the same time. I had a 2010 ford I changed the plugs at 107k and they looked good. The truck had 320k on it when sold with over 200k on the plugs..the newer plugs and ignition systems are much longer lived..save your money...
