• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3T or F3 Ltd. New Non-current

I was checking out the new inventory at Honda East Toledo and discovered some unsold 2016 models there being discounted. For example a 2016 F3 Limited Special Series (matte black) for $21,387 and a 2016 F3T (magnesium metallic) with radio & SE6 for $19,767. I like the new 2017 Limited but the price well over $29,000 makes me cringe. I'm wondering if the rear trunk is available in these colors to make them more like the new limited. I'm not sure if I like matte paint finishes so maybe some feedback on how these finishes hold up and special care. I'm old school and like shiny paint but the $1620 difference in the two might be getting me a better bargain on the limited. Maybe somebody could weigh-in on this.

Like you, I like for my paint to be shiny. That is one of the reasons that I decided against the special edition color scheme. Some dealers have the Limited in the other colors left over as well. But, as for the year model difference, I would definitely go for a 2016 model and then add the rear trunk kit. The price difference is not worth going for the later year model. Keep in mind, this is only one mans opinion, but now you have it. Happy shopping.

Gotta say...

Find your best deal and go for it. With the savings you can make it look anyway you want to...paint is cheap but just so you know the matte finishes of today hold up really well and are easy to maintain....

We have the 16 Limited. And we just added the trunk. It is awesome. Buy the 16, add the trunk. Save money! Tom :spyder:

We were in the same boat. Saved almost $7k and went with the 2016. The only real difference is the trunk and the heated passenger grips. I priced out the grip conversion and if you do it yourself its under $300.
Pretty much a no brainer if you ask me.

If your going to add a trunk--the new one made for F3 is about $2K extra. Very quickly you can get that F3 way over $30K. If dealers are holding their own on MSRP pricing--you should probably look elsewhere. If you are in a buying mood, I would request giving each a test drive to see which one "floats your boat." If you have to buy any extras to get the lesser one up to the other, you are not going to save any money. Let us know what you do.:yes:

The trunk, sides and amp retail for $2,000. Discount will bring it down anywhere from 10% to 20%. Get them to throw in the install for you. Tom :spyder:

In my experience I think the prices mentioned were very reasonable. As to negotiations go, I would start with installation of the box, after you pay for the parts, AND they throw in three added years of BEST warranty. They can do that the margins on extended warranties are big.
