• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3S Tires and Rims

I would like to change all my rims out to 16" for taller/wider tires
and was wondering if anyone had tried this? I would definitely like
a bigger tire on the rear if possible. Of course space restrictions would
limit overall size. If not possible what would be the largest size I good
safely install on the stock rims? Opinions are welcome!

RIMS ETC.

Finding quality AFFORDABLE rims is not your first challenge........The OEM swingarm will severely limit the tire size and choice ......and if you lengthen the swingarm , I am sure you will have to switch to chain drive , unless by some miracle you can find a drive belt that will work !!! ..............Let's say you get ALL THIS WORKED OUT ........:yes::yes:.........Now you have the " NANNY " to make happy , because if the wheel / tire sizes don't agree with Her......The Spyder won't RUN - PERIOD .......and I doubt that can be over-come ........IMHO, this is an exercise in futility..................However if you have UN-LIMITED time and money I suppose it's possible ........Mike ........PS, check out E-bay.....I have seen some tricked out chain drive Spyders there from time to time.

Time I have plenty of, its the money that I would
like to have more of. My thought was to just get a
little more rubber on the ground and maybe get a
little different look. Thanks for the input.

Now that we are a supporting vendor, maybe I can help with your wheels. Currently we have 4 designs under development (Three 15" and one 17"). Designed to be direct fit with no modifications I'm sure one of the designs will catch your eye. While our web site gets finished, you can check out our wheels on our Instagram page.

Going with a 17" wheel while maintaining the OEM tire height (known as a "plus 2" change) should have a dramatic effect on the F3's handling. You would have to use a tire with a 1" (25.4 mm) shorter sidewall to keep that diameter and that would affect the bike's steering response. The question is whether the change would be for the better. It would be more responsive with less sidewall squirm, but it could also get "twitchey" if it's too responsive. One also needs to consider how "plus 2" interacts with the swaybar, shocks, etc. as it's all a system working together. "Plus 2" should also increase ride harshness as felt through the handlebar. (maybe not enough to matter) Don't misunderstand me as I'm not being negative about the 17" choice, but I am very curious as to how it affects the F3. (such a change could be radical in a car)
