• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3s down

Wow, less than 500 miles on it and check trans flashes on screen then cycles though all the gears at 55 mph and goes into reverse by it self , neutral and reverse again . Only by display didn't actually shift into reverse .
pulled to the shoulder , shut it off , fired it up again and tried to get it off the highway onto a side road . Did the same thing , shut it down . Fired it up turned off the highway and it died with the check engine flashing on the screen . All fluid levels are ok no bad smell or discoloration . Went home on another bike picked up trailer now waiting for the dealer tomorrow .

Curious..!!

did you give the computer time to shut down..?? Say a half hour or more to see if it is a missread which do occur. Being that new good idea to take it back to the dealer to check out...got my first ever check engine limp home mode 500 miles from home but it cleared after lunch and she got me home averaging 75 mph...my RS just turned 30,000 miles and I have no warranty left so you see why I say take her in just in case...

The famous shut if off, remove the key, walk away about 30 ft. and restart in about 10 or more minutes--USUALLY-- will solve most of the crazy computer issues.

In this case, a trip to the dealer to make sure all is well, is a good idea.

Booting up to fast sometimes has caused E to pop up in the gear change window on some 2014 and 2015 RT's. The F3 has the same engine--so...maybe?

Your situation is more elaborate. The dealer should check it for codes also.

Please let us know what you find out.

Check out Doc Humphreys post on Aug 18 about the 15 RT and F-3's Gearbox Position Indicator being contaminated.

Thanks to all ,
Yes the dealer never checked the vin for open warranty programs on our new F3 ,
Yes thanks to the Doc Humphreys post I brought it to there attention the dealers service manager this morning tried to tell me they couldn't sell it to us until all open campaigns where done and basically I didn't know what it was talking about .
well low and behold he said later in the day that our spyder was on the recall list and they tried to call us to bring it in on last Friday that's what the salesman told him .
Well you would think it was watergate with the back pedaling and trying to cover there rears.
all I know it's going to be fixed by tomorrow night again thanks for all in info

Dealer credibility is sometimes a big issue. Get it fixed before saying or doing anything is my suggestion.

What is the recall for? How wide spread is it? Do you have a number?

That's exactly what I thought of too when I read the first post. We need to get the word out to other F3 riders. It seems as though the dealership are not up to date on their TSB's. And, the "we tried to get a hold of you" was an outright lie. From what I can tell, there is no recall list. They actually have no idea how many units (F3 & RT) will have that problem occur. Sounds like they said that to try and deflect some of the responsibility.
I am glad we have this forum to be able to get the straight scoup about it....hope you get it straightened out!
