F3 would not start after I got to work!

Evening guys. Got a problem. I started up the F3 this morning to take to work like I have in the past. Rode it to work, Turned it off to go and clock in and get some coffee. Afterwards, Put my helmet on and was going to ride it to my shop Turned the key on, Hit the mode button and then when I used the start button it barley turned over. Not enough to start it anyways. Now, my F3 is a manual and have had no problem starting since buying it this past thanksgiving. I ended up getting the guys I work with to push start me and then drove to work. Tried starting it around lunch and it started right up like it has been since buying it. But, went to start it when I got off and it would not start again. I did get home after push starting it again. I really have not messed with any wiring or anything like that. I have installed led's for the turn signals under the service panels which I tapped into the turn signal wire off the mirrors. I installed the DIY fog lights.I tapped them off of the plug under the key. I know this has a alternator so I never have put my battery tender on it. I got it on there now though. Anyone one have any ideas what could killing my battery? Or is it just a bad battery and maybe have the dealer put a new one in? Thanks in advance.

Connections.....

You seem to have enough good contact when key is on but not under a load. the push start and vibtation helps but chrck the connecions...

NOT STARTING

.......The connections at Battery could be the issue.....I would put STAR washers on them and they will never loosen by themselves.....EVER. You may have a BAD battery....not common, but un-heard of either........Mike

I checked the battery connections. Got alittle turn on them but not that lose. I got my battery tender on it now and it just turned solid green. I guess I can always just connect the tender when it is parked in the garage.

......Solid green from your batt. tender is not an accurate way of determining if you have a defective battery.......You REALLY need to have it load tested.......even keeping it on a Battery maintainer is no guarantee this issue isn't going to occur.......It's like rotating the tires on a Spyder ( waste of money ) Yes you will get some additional miles from them, but you aren't FIXING the problem. So every set you put on will wear pre-maturely................Mike

Yeah I know. Wanted to test it but my fluke was at work. I'll test it with my fluke tonight when I get home.

Brought the multi meter home today after work. With the probes on the battery and not key in the ignition, the meter reads 12.53. With the key in the ignition and turned to on, the meter shows 12.28. I push the start button and read 14. 51 and its running. Now I did have the battery on the tender all last night and I have checked the battery terminals. I've looked at all the wire and fuses and everything to me looks good but I'm not all the good when it comes to diagnosing electrical problems on a spyder. Any more ideas? Maybe just go to the dealer and have them check it out? I have my small jumper cables that I use on my Seadoo RXP in the frunk now so if it happens again before I get it fixed I can jump it off or push start it.

take to auto zone or batteries plus to get it load checked is my recommendation I wouldn't was Time at dealer unless it's dead. I believe batteries are warranted for 6 months

IF YOU JUMP IT FROM A CAR BATTERY

.............. :lecturef_smilie:...As stated above, DO NOT HAVE THE CAR RUNNING......It will damage the battery or worse possibly a computer :gaah:.........Mike

??? Then how am I going to test with the multimeter to see if the battery is charging or not while running? Or are you saying not to have it running while on the tender? If so, thanks! I already know ,not to have it on the tender while running.

....You said , you could " jump start it with a car " . I'm telling you ,if you do this the CAR MUST NOT BE RUNNING ......I'm not addressing the testing procedures !!!!!...................Mike

Sorry. Kind of confusing on how you posted it. At work I first tried to jump it off with a jump box but ended up just push starting it because the jump box was dead. Got the cables just in case it happens away from work and I can not push start it. I will make sure if I do have to jump start with cables that the vehicle that I am jumping from is not running. Thanks for letting me know this.
