• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 sound

I live in the Chicago area. I've been wanting a spyder for quite sometime. I'm shocked the can ams aren't more popular. Here unless you're on a bagger the sheep think you're a nobody. If it doesn't have an HD badge you're REALLY a nobody. I rarely rarely get to see a spyder in he wild. However, had the opportunity to come across an F3. Must say, the exhaust note is very pleasant. That 1300 sounds really good. Just kind of an observation. Was louder than I thought it would be.

Really..!!!

your worried about opinions...:lecturef_smilie: listening to an F3 is a step in the right direction. You can hear many mods to that tune but listening while you ryde is the best...can't make the 1330 sound like a harley but the 998 twin sounds like a harley on steroids...:roflblack::roflblack: and runs lie it too... test one and your done...

It sounds even better under load. In third or fourth gear above 5,000 RPMs it has a nice howl/wail. I really want to get the Akra pipe for mine. I put an Akra pipe on my VFR1200 and it sounded great. Stock, the VFR sounded like a sewing machine.

I agree with you Gene, I really like the sound of the 998!

And since you are in the Windy city area, check out iMotorSports.:doorag: That's where I got my F3S from.:bowdown: Tell them I sent ya!! They will treat you right.

Owning a Harley, An F3 and an ST, I have basis to render observation and opinion: the Can Am engine will never sound like a Harley. The 990 just starts running good when a typical Harley is at redline. If I rev the Harley to 5000 RPM it sounds like a number of v-twins out there; I run out of RPM much above that. The cams and timing that allow the 998 to generate high RPM house power don't generate the low RPM torque. . My F3 has a similar growl below 3500 RPM, but losses it when revving higher. I've modified the exhaust to get the tone I wanted - I didn't want a straight through harsh bark.

Bottom line is I didn't buy the Can Am because it sounded like my other bike, I bought it because it's so dß# fun to ryde!
