• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 Recall - Chassis reinforcement

Damn crazy man! I just put the bike away for the winter. Cold here y'all. Guess I'll look into now so I can ride in the spring.

Hi all,

There was indeed a proactive warranty campaign released on January 12th regarding chassis reinforcement on the F3 and F3 S, to halt or prevent a crack around the welding of the rear shock absorber upper bracket. The reinforcement kit will ensure full long-term structural reliability of the frame section. It's important to note that in the unlikely event any further crack or deformation should appear in the same area addressed by this warranty bulletin, BRP will cover this frame repair under a lifetime warranty.

Also note that this is not a safety recall. You should still get this bulletin performed to avoid any preventable damages. General dynamic behavior and handling capability are not affected.

Here We Go

Showed up at my dealer today with several warranty issues. Bad key and faulty gas cap both of which had been reported and parts ordered. Also noted on the work order was crooked handle bars and foot fairings were cracked. While I was setting in the customers lounge I got a Facebook post that the F3 frames were fracturing at the top shock mount and the date of the bulletin was 12 January 2016. I walked back to the service area and told the service writer to look up the service notice added to my list. The road mobile is really except the reinforcement piece is on order. I've said all along the F3S rear shock was weak and can't handle large folks like me 6"2' 228 lbs. I understand the 2016 has a different rear shock. I'm looking for a change soon.

Thanks for the updates both from Lamomster and Steve from BRP Care. This info let's us know that the recall is legit.

Recall

I stopped by my dealer yesterday and had them go ahead and open a ticket to order the new part. I didn't want to get caught in the crush at the start of riding season. As soon as the part comes in I'll get a call.

My dealer's calling me when the parts are in stock. Spoke to their chief tech about it and this is a recall for ALL 2015 F3s.
Nice that the guys at BRP are giving a lifetime warranty on the repair. I'll see if I can work in the improved shock at the same time.

My dealer called today and said parts are in.

I was due to pick up my new F3S Steel today but when I informed the Dealer here in Western Sydney of the warranty campaign I'd seen on our forum the Business Manager confirmed they were currently halting all new Spyder deliveries due to same. Parts were at least ordered by them last Wed/Thurs so shouldn't be more than an extra day or two they are telling me. :banghead:
