• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 - Electric ports and outlets - Recommendations and reviews

Though I would start a thread, should anyone be interested in adding "electric stuff" to their ride. On the simple
side we know the F3 units have (3) pre-wired power sources. The Frunk, Left lateral panel, and under the rear
seat.

I picked up this standard 12V CigStyle for $8 on Amazon. It just arrived, and I plan on using this one under the
rear seat with the rubber sleeve BRP provides. (Will do a dual USB on the dash area, and possibly another of
these in the Frunk). Seems to be built, for what it is, well. I do like the fact is has a "lock" for the plugged in
part vs your standard round inside. So it does have a positive somewhat feel when you plug something in.

I recommend the Powerlet brand outlet

because it's built specifically to handle the vibration of a motorcycle. I don't see anything wrong with what you've got either.

I have a dual USB outlet in the frunk and a dual USB outlet under the urban rack and then my powerlet outlet on the left hand side of the bike kind of in front of the knee area. I carry a powerlet to cigarette adapter in the frunk in case I need to use the mini compressor I carry. The powerlet outlet also has a ton of adapters available for different things (heated gear, iPods, USB, cell phones etc.) Geez.... I sound like I own stock or something. I don't!

Beware of the Plug in the Trunk

The trunk will need to come out in order to service the battery, or to get to the fuse box. Therefore, the plug will need some thought about placement and being moved when the trunk needs to come out.

The plug will need either - a quick disconnect, - or long enough wire to service the battery, or fuse box.

I'm going with a plug that can be pull out (with wires long enough to get to the quick disconnect).

I did see one out there that had about a 12" QD attached, but also thought the same that I'd have to
rig-up a QD or something similar to a Battery Tender QD for the Frunk.

I just put the rear seat unit in. The unit is MUCH larger than the sleeve BUT, the ears on
the sleeve will allow you to pull it up along the treads to be watertight! Fits like a glove. Nicely
done BRP on that one. (FYI that plug is only powered when the engine is running)
