• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I wanted to post what I have been working on for a few weeks now. I started April 1st when I bought a 2011 naked base model 7x14 enclosed trailer to haul my Spyder back and forth to the dealership. My wife said " Boy I wish we could go camping with our Spyder", and light bulb went off and the games began.
I installed plumbing, 30 amp electric, cable hookup, lights, double sink, windows, awning, custom cabinets, custom queen bed that folds up, custom pocket screen door, fridge, micro, HW heater, purgo floors and a ceiling. My wife made the curtains herself. I'm waiting on the Spyder outside decals for the sides of the trailer.
Although I have not installed a shower yet, but I figure there are always showers at every campground I have ever been, so I dont know if I'm going to. We also have a portable toilet in there. To cook we have a portable stove and a barbeque grill.
All together I have $6,500.00 invested which includes the trailer. This is not bad considering, a new Toyhauler at our local dealer was over $22,000.00 The best thing about this is, NO LOAN PAYMENT !!!

Pics below. Check it out and tell me what you think or if I need something more.

Great Job- Spyder Camper

Hi, I'm a newbie here- and looking at the Spyder- can't afford one now however. We just sold DH big Vulcan Cruiser and now we are down to One Bike, a 2010 Vulcan Nomad we bought for me last year. I ended up not being able to handle the size/weight when the riding season started again this year. (I rode a Vulcan 900 for a few years before). I'm sure I'd do well on a Spyder RT-S. We also like to camp and have a very basic Viking PoP Up, easy to tow with our Volvo XC 90. We have not done it yet, but going Camping will be me driving the Suv-PoP Up and DH riding the Nomad. I've looked at Toyhaulers (yikes $$$$). We also had a very small Halmark Trailer- often thought about setting it up for Camping. It was way to small for 2 large Bikes. So sold it too. It's great to see your set-up for the Spyder. Look forward to hearing how your camping goes. Great Job- and certainly a very Affordable Solution. Well, my dogs are yelping to be fed... so bye for now. Karen

Great job on the conversion. Traveling with the spyder is fun. We trailer ours behind a motorhome. Best of both worlds. Enjoy your many new adventures.

Are you hauling your Spyder in there too??? You can't be towing it with your Spyder, THAT'S FOR SURE!!!! You have everything in there but the kitchen sink!!

Oh wait! :gaah: You DO have the kitchen sink in there!!!!!:yikes:

Happy Spyder camping!!!!

That will work. Looks nice. :2thumbs:

Of course I needed more sleeping space so I had to buy my toy hauler. But I got it for 13k so I'm happy with it.

A little tight but looks good. Nice job

Yes There is 4 inches to make a mistake with. You have to be sober to back it in. LOL

Yes, I haul the Spyder in there while towing it with a Toyota Tundra. I can't wait to try it out.

:congrats:

I could really use your help with all kinds of projects! :D Great job! The only thing that would have made it better would be if it could haul 2 Spyders.

I would gladly trade my screwgun talents for some of your Spyderlovers wrench talents sometime. When it comes to fixing the Spyder I'm clueless. I'm always to afraid I will break it beyond repair or it will throw a code. Then back in the trailer it goes and off to the dealer $$$$$$$. I know you have to have fuel, compression and spark but don't ask me how it happens, it just does. :roflblack::roflblack:

:roflblack: The closest I have gotten to working on the engine is changing out my stock air filter for a K&N one, changing the spark plugs, installing the O2 modifier, and doing my own oil changes. Anything beyond that and the dealer and warranty will have to take care of it. :D
