express way mileage

Just got back from my first high speed run on my RT. Ran on the express way holding at 75 MPH on the speo, the GPS said 72 MPH. Checked my gas mileage at the exit. My mileage at high way speed was 26.12 MPG. What a differance from 55-60 crusing averaging over 30 MPG at slower speed.
Big change from the gold wing. Cost per smile sure went up but what the heck its only money.

That is about what I get and seems to be pretty typical for the RT. Not great but it sure is fun.

After a couple of thousand miles, my milage improved to 32ish at freeway speeds (a little above your quoted speed )

I normally get between 29 and 31 MPG. I ran up I-4 and I-95 to the Corbin plant today. I'd say I averaged around 75 MPH. I got just about 30 MPG. Actually 29.8 2010 RT-S

You are in the ballpark. Windshield down as much as possible. Mileage will improve a little with time.

I average 29-31-depending.

We just finished a 1,600 miles loop between home and San Antonio. Our best going down fighting a head wind and towing our trailer was maybe 22mpg with 20 being closer. Mind you, I was running right at 75mph on the interstate portions on average.

On the return trip it improved up to about 25mpg with the wind at our backs.

Locally I am getting around 27-28mpg with a one time high of 32mpg.

We have 3,300 on the 2011 RT SE-5 Limited.

We found that buying the Corbin saddle was a "best buy." Also, that the front suspension is too soft with us two-up fighting wind -- ordered new Elka shocks from Len @ Cowtown while we were in San Antonio and they are sitting here awaiting installation tomorrow.

Road pegs/cruiser pegs or foot boards that allow the rider to stretch the legs is mandatory for long rides.

A gag for the rear passenger would be a great option to have, too. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
