exhaust poppin sound

Lately when my spyder gets into town traffic after riding 100 or more miles my exhaust starts popping.
does happen til the temp hits 5 bars/

anybody else had this problem?

You didn't say what pipe you have or how long you've had it. I have a brand new 2 Bro's Carbon Fiber pipe and now that it's broken in with a few hundred miles on it I do notice little backfire, type popping only when the bike is downshifting and compression braking. I think is normal for my bike and pipe. I don't remember my stock one doing that. Then again, my stock pipe only had about 3,800 miles on it when I changed it out.

Y Gaskets, or if you changed out the stock muffler ?, you leaned out the fuel mixture.

My oxygen sensor is bad, mine started popping in the muffler at an idle, espiecially when cold. They have the parts in now and replacing it next Saturday.

its probably the y gaskets it runs fine until i get into heavy traffic after riding for several hours.

i have a dynaflow muffler and its been on for about 3 months and sefveral thousand miles.

it runs fine after i get out of traffic and on the open road again.

i'll change the gaskets next week in time for daytona bike week.

Mine did it until I changed the exhaust Y gaskets. Replace them with the Honda brand. There is a thread that shows you how to do it and part # needed. Easy install with directions.
