• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Evoluzione Sway Bar not an upgrade for 2011 RS??

After reading all the positive reviews here on the Evoluzione Sway Bar I was considering one for my 2011 RS-S. However I think I remember reading that BRP made some improvements to the 2011 RS suspension.

Just to check I looked up the BRP part number for the RS/GS sway bar and found the following:

2008- Early 2010: 505071708
Late 2010 - 2011: 706200772

So it appears that BRP did indeed make a change to the RS sway bar in late 2010. Now I'm wondering if spending $230 for the Evoluzione sway bar is a waste of money for a 2011 RS.

Does anyone have any real info on this? What is the difference between the older and newer BRP sway bars? How does the newer BRP sway bar stack up to the Evoluzione?

Also it's very curious that the Evoluzione web site itself does not list a sway bar for a 2011 model RS.

I'd rather put the money toward better shocks if the new BRP sway bar is close to the performance of the Evoluzione.

Interesting find.

Bottom line... New shocks are going to do more than the sway is to improve your ride. Shocks first.

BRP is known for changing part numbers without changing the part at all--- for no good reason.

Not sure about this one--- but I believe most RT owners that want better ride end up with elka shocks.

I believe you're thinking of the updates to the RT suspension for 2011. Don't think anything was done or said about rs suspension being updated.

I know the RT's shocks were recalibrated for 2011, but the RS also received suspension upgrades in 2011 to reduce vibration including an additional linkage rod and improved rubber mounts. There were also other changes BRP did not explicitly state as demonstrated by the new connectors found when trying to install a Juice Box. So you have to wonder.

I don't know if the 2011 sway bar has been upgraded in any way but I find the part number change a curiosity. Also Lamonster recently posted that BRP has stated that the new Fox adjustable shocks upgrade kit should only be used on a 2011 or 2012 RS. Is that because of software or hardware changes, or both?

I was just hoping someone knew for certain. It would be interesting to compare a 2011-2012 RS sway bar to an older one.

Software changes. They retooled the nanny a bit for the Fox shocks. Nothing has changed in the mount points. You can use the Fox shocks on any RS.... The "only use on" is BRP legalese.

The rods and rubber mounts were attached to the engine and frame...not the suspension.
