• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

everybody has a scam going

About those beggars...

... I have adopted a policy of typically not giving these folks (homeless, highway walkers, etc) any money. I tell them I will buy them something to eat but I won't give them money. I had one "homeless" guy refuse to let me buy him something to eat and said, "I'll just go on down the road a ways..." I have had a couple of guys accept my offer of food. I took another guy to a gas station and I bought gas for a gas can he had with him. Giving them money may happen in a rare case... but not usually.

I must be a heartless hater.

I pay enough in taxes that are wasted on those sorts. There are plenty of placed for them to get help without harassing me.

There is a guy out our way, always in the same spot on a regular basis. He seems to treat it as a job. Takes coffee breaks at the shop near where he begs.

I am not a money person either. It's mostly a game to keep in cigarettes, dope, and alcohol. When they are in groups, they always have enough smokes and the brown bag being passed between them.

Here's the thing....

They make good money...nojoke I knew a few and had a college friend that could go out in red light traffic and pick up a hundred with in four lights...:dontknow: and the relatively new tactic of having a dog is very effective...:banghead:

Just last week, our grand daughter thought she did her good deed for the day by buying a homeless guy (who probably wasn't homeless) a sandwich and a soda.
Took the sandwich off her, opened it, then threw it on the sidewalk ! Cussed her out for buying a sandwich he didn't like !!

Wish I'd been there with her :sour:

I just yell, "Get a job!!!" Only not those exact words.:roflblack: Giving advice makes me feel much better than giving food or money.

And then you get the people who complain if they are going to be hung by a brand new rope. You just cannot please all of the people all the time. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

For the paltry sum of $24.95 I can tell you how to avoid these scammers :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
