• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Evaluations: Evoluzione Swaybar

I installed my sway bar today. I have a 2008 SM5. I had no problem re-installing the lower 2 trunk bolts.

I also checked with a flashlight to see if there was any space between the trunk and the jog in the middle of the sway bar. There is a space; but, very little.

Put the sway bar on the 2011 RSS-SE5 :spyder2: today also bumped up the shocks one notch. IMO great mod for the money. The install took less than an hour. (Very easy) I had no clearance issues at all with the trunk. I did the prop up method that I read about in a post here on SL. (I used a can of wax, not pretty but it works)
This :spyder: is on rails now

That is exactly how mine is. Maybe that is why they said they are changing it. It sure does help though and once you know what to expect it should be easier for the next person. I would still say it is worth the money and time.

The curve in the middle of the new sway bar is where the problem is for me. It is now literally smashed against the back of the lower portion of the trunk, sure it physically bolts in, but it shouldn't be smashed into the trunk. The sway bar has to move when you go over bumps, I'm sure over time there is going to be problems.

I have the exact same problem too, when I put on the sway bar earlier.
Emailed Ken, and was told it was due to slightly different tolerances in Spyder construction. :dontknow:
I ended up putting a washer between the gap to lock the bar down firmly.

Follow-up on your Evos

Okay, we're getting ready to order Evos for the RT & RS.

I had mine put on my 2011 RSS by my dealer. I was going in or my 600 mile service so I hd them put it on and tighten up the shocks. The difference is significant and highly recommended. Even the mechanic who test drove it said the difference was amazing. Next week the Elke shocks go on.

I have a 2008 GS, SM5 and did not have a fit problem. I installed it about 3 weeks ago. The spyder handles much better in the curves. Next week I'm having the 2011 RT shock assy's installed.

I didn't know Custom Dynamics is a sponsor of SL. I didn't seem them listed on the home page.

You may want to check out this thread for helpful hints, if you haven't already:

You are right! :yikes: They're not listed as a sponsor.... thought they were.
I'll have to eat my words on that one (just a dash of tabasco please) . . . :opps:

And thanks for the link.

Checked with the dealer's tech today about the EVO sway bar. he said he's never done one but has put RT swaybars on RS. Anyone done this? Any comments?
Thanks.

Reading through this thread it appears as though ryders in the 200lb+ range (with or without a passenger) can feel the benefit of Evo's swaybar. I'm curious to know if I would feel the difference being a solo ryder at approx 130lbs with gear on. Does anyone of this size have the swaybar, and how much of a difference has it made?
