• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ethanol article - Rider, Dec. '15

Just join the AMA, their lobbying efforts kept E15 out of gas stations this year, 2015. They keep members informed about many issues for types of all riders. Go to their web site to sign a protest to your Congressman, it sets up an email to them, you don't have to call Congress, unless you want to. Let's work towards keeping E15 out of our rides, better yet all of our engines!!

Any of the above actions beats giving up or doing nothing.

We have a lot of really... creative ... actions suggested, for corn and our elected Politicians...
What did corn ever to do you; to make you hate it so much?? :dontknow:

This past weekend, I managed to put close to 800 mile on my 'new' Spyder and played around with different type fuels to prove or disprove my feelings. I ran different octane amounts, and ethanol/non-ethanol types. All interstate miles with my tach set on 3900 rpm by the cruse control. Any ethanol fuel gave me 30 to 34 mpg with the higher amounts of octane give better all around performance, and the big surprise was non-ethanol (93 (?)octane ) gave me 37 mpg. I was impressed more than I thought I would be.

I quit using ethanol fuels in my yard equipment and boat because I got tired of having to rebuild carburetors after the winter of sitting and not being used. I don't worry much about my motorcycles, and now my Spyder because they don't sit much. i.e.: my spyder is now 7 weeks old and I have about 1800 miles on it Not as much as I would like, but it's getting there.

To think the government is agreeable to raising the percentage of non-ethanol fuels is amazing and proof that they are run by lobbyists instead of realists. The 10% stuff has caused untold damage to equipment, not to mention the decreased mileage, and now they are going to boost it to 15% is just a slap in the face to consumers. The biggest disappointment is that most people don't care enough to be bothered, or feel complaining about it won't make any difference.

Whoops, time to get off the soapbox ............................ just thought I would share my mileage results.

Anytime the Government has to 'Subsidize' something. It means people don't want it. So they take your money and use it to shove something down your throat that is usually a very bad idea. Then they take a bad idea and double down making it even worse than the original idea.

We are going to get E15 whether we like it or not. Even though it destroys engines, reduces power & MPG because you have to burn more to go the same distance and takes more oil to make than to make the same amount of straight gasoline. Not to mention that it diverts food that would otherwise be exported to people who need it.

As this ethanol idea gets worse. The government is afraid more people will discover the official propaganda is not true and they might start buying the cheaper (yet more expensive at the pump) straight gas. To prevent this, our government wants to shut off that escape route altogether. They want everyone to suffer equally. This petition does not thwart E15 for those who want to buy it. It simply tells the government that we want to continue the option of getting straight gasoline.

Bingo!
