Error codes C1282, C1183, & P0130

I am getting these three codes. For the P0130, I've changed the O2 sensor, but I'm still getting the code. I only found 1 O2 sensor. Is there more than one? If not, what else should I check to get this code to clear. All fuses seem to be fine.
Also, I've topped off the brake fluid and made sure the sensor floats are correct, but I'm still getting the parking brake failure and brake failure message across the screen as well as the C1183 and C1282 codes.
My bike is a 2008 Spyder GS SE-5. Can anyone please help lead me in the right direction in where I need to go from here?

There's a LOT of info about these codes if you do a Search or 3 and a bit of reading - simply type each code into the Search field up toward the top right of the page, just below the Lamonster Garage logo (I'd suggest trying one at a time first - more likely to get a result that way. ); tick the 'Search Titles Only' box in the drop-down list that'll appear; submit your Search; and use the thread titles to help pick which threads look like they'll most help you. :thumbup:

It looks like they're referring to Brakes; the Pillion Switch (shorting?); and either an O2 sensor or possibly a cannister purge issue... Or maybe it's just a dying &/or dead battery??

These Spyder things ARE extremely power hungry, and I'm beginning to feel a bit like a broken record, but many of these 'multiple seemingly unrelated error issues' sheet back to battery &/or power issues. Have you checked your battery &/or its terminals & earth points lately?? :dontknow:

Just be careful with the earth points - your Spyder has it's battery under the seat, and its main Earth to Frame point is just there under the seat too; but it's a captive nut/rivnut type thing inserted into the frame, and it's very easy to over-tighten that so that the captive nut starts to spin in the frame, making for a very poor earth point! :banghead:

Make sure the key has been turned off for more than 30 seconds. Turn on the ignition key. Wait for the screen to finish booting up. You may not need to push the Mode switch, but it won't hurt. Press the brake pedal hard enough to activate the low-pressure switch. HARD. If you have good hearing it will be the 2nd click. While holding the brake pedal down, turn the ignition key OFF and wait 30 seconds. Release the brake pedal. Then check if the code is cleared.

Thank you Peter Aawen. I have recently replaced the battery, but I am starting to feel like there is possibly still something going on there relating to an electrical issue. I was not aware of that Earth point you mentioned, so I will go back and check that.

I will also go and do a search of all the error codes on here for more insight.

I did try something like this, but I will try it exactly as you have listed here. Thank you. I will let you know if that clears the brake issue.

So X. Did all of these codes come in at the same time? A fundamental truth about reseting codes is that you have to correct the very issue that triggered the code in the first place. Your C1282 code refers to Low Pressure as sensed by the Low Pressure Switch. You didn't do anything to address that. Not every brake related code is about reservoir level.

Typically, as far as C1282 goes, it requires at least a brake fluid flush, and quite possibly replacement of the brake pads as well. It's just an indication that your brake systems needs maintenance. But, in conjunction with those other two codes, you might need to be looking for a common thread.

Bigger picture - your O2 sensor code (P0130) is caused by a short to battery or ground. A replacement of the O2 sensor didn't fix anything. Your Pillion (passenger seat) switch code (C1183) is caused by a short to ground. And your Low Pressure Switch code (C1282) is related to low or no pressure sensed by the brake system pressure sensor, when there should have been. Maybe you should be concentrating on looking for a short to ground somewhere.

There is no quick fix to resetting a code. You have to actually fix the problem, first. Good Luck.
