• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. ERAGS and DOCRAGS finally made it home from BRP Owner's Event

Well. Erags and I have finally made it home from the BRP Owner's Event after 70 days on the road. We have been to 20 states, 2 Canadian provinces and Washington DC. We attended three Spyder events (Maggie Valley, Magog Spyderfest and SITA). We even stubled into Thunder in the Valley by accident! We logged 6984 Spyder miles and 4410 RV miles. We saw numerous old Navy & Spyder friends and met many new Spyderlovers. Everywhere we went we had people looking at us or taking pictures of our Phantom. It was a wonderful summer adventure and we have tons of wonderful memories...except for Charleston SC...where I am still pissed they ban motorcycles from their public parking lots and garages! We need to start a letter writing campaign to the local officials & newpapers! That was the ONLY place we didn't feel welcome with our Spyder. We have returned home to Florida with a dirty Spyder with a broken antenna and broken rear fender brackets. We passed a billboard yesterday that sums things up nicely: "Explore nature...there are surprises everywhere." Ain't that the truth! Now it's time to start planning our next trip!

:thumbup:what a wonderful adventure....70 days on the road.......good for y'all.:clap:....I thought we were doing good with 56 days on the road...not all together....16 days home 2 days....18 days home 2 1/2 weeks..22 days....

Erags and DocRags' Adventure

Just realized I forgot to include a mention of completing the Kentucky Bourbon Trail :2thumbs: while we were in Frankfort KY and three days' worth of Wine Trails in the Fingerlakes region of New York...poor Erags didn't get to do much tasting since he was the Designated Driver!:D It was up to me as the Designated Drinker to sample things!:roflblack::roflblack: Hopefully one of these days I can shrink down enough pictures to post them with a more in-depth record of our adventure. I had one day that I thought the camera battery died since I couldn't take any more pictures :gaah:...ended up I'd filled the 2G memory card that day. The battery was still holding up OK at that point. (And then Erags pointed out there was another card in the camera bag! :cus: )

Congratulations, that trip sounded like a blast!!
I always wanted to take a long trip like that..hopefully someday

No Motorcycles in Charleston, SC

Whoa!!!! DocRags, tell me more about this "no motorcycles" in public parking areas or garages in Charleston, SC. I don't live far from there and have a new bike. :gaah:

Sounds like you had a great trip. If you post your pics on photo bucket you can just copy and paste the link here and we can then see all of them. Just an idea. Its easier than trying to shrink them down. :2thumbs: on your trip.

Sounds like a great trip! The RV and the motorcycle make a great combination when you're gone for an extended time. We'll be traveling that way next summer. Would love to see some pictures.

No Motorcycles in Parking Garages

I am sorry that you did not have a pleasant visit here. I have had the same problem in downtown Chas. re-parking garages. According to the parking lot people the reason they don't allow motorcycles is they don't trip the gate properly. They say it causes the gate to either come down too early or too late. That's 1 of the reasons we try to stay out of what we call the shi**y!! Other cities have parking garages - what do they do with motorcycles and spiders? Anyone know?

Was nice to meet you guys in Maggie Valley --- and cool to meet up with you again a few weeks later at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo New York by coincidence.....

Sounds like you had a great trip!

Glad we had a chance to meet in Maggie Valley and again in the Adirondacks. I can only dream of a trip like that! Glad you made it home safe and look forward to seeing more pictures.

I will try to post more stories and pictures sometime this week. It's way too hot & humid to spend much time outdoors tackling alll the weeds that have taken over our flower beds, so I have a good excuse for spending time on the computer. Our pictures are on Erags' laptop so I'll have to kidnap it for awhile. LOL. We were told the reason for no motorcycles in public lots was because they are too rowdy, zipping around all over the place. It sure doesn't make you feel too welcome when the pkg. Lot attendent comes charging out of her booth at the Visitors Center (of all places!) Screaming "You can't park that in here!" What a way to welcome someone from out of state! Memorable, anyway! It was great meeting up with you in 2 locations, wackyDan and Firefly. Well, I'll post more later...pictures, too
