• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Your $$ sooooooo...

Hmmmm no judgement coming from this SL on how others choose to spend THEIR $$.....Now if you ask me for a loan so you can spend MY $$...then I have a whole repertoire of lectures on finances (most of which I don't even follow--I would hate to lose my status as a Salesman's delight) !!!! :yikes::thumbup::yes::clap:

QUOTE=Bob Denman;694878]I saw this one in Missouri in April; He mentioned $8,000 bucks for the paint job alone... :shocked:View attachment 76616View attachment 76617View attachment 76618View attachment 76619[/QUOTE]

The $ 8,000.00 must include the additional body fiberglass body parts.

This trike looks familiar, there is one in Montreal, that looks very close to that one.

On the other hand if he spent $ 8000.00 for the paint job only, I think he has been taken to the cleaner, the paint job is nice but with no special effect or anything, not worth it, considering that the paint and other associated products is between $ 500.00 to $ 750.00.

Don't forget Guys, that a good to excellent paint job does not get done overnight like a Macco or Fact-O-Bake job. Additionally paint and materials are very expansive too!!

Don't assume MAACO only does $299 overnight specials. They paint a LOT of cars and have the process down. They did my truck. Took 2 weeks and a couple days, $2500 including removing 12 yrs of dings and scratches, removing the bed and most of the interior. I changed colors from red to blue and wanted everything done except under the hood. My point is not to wright them off out of hand. They even paint classics and do show quality work...at a price.

COLOR CHANGE

When you are ready to do a color change or to make it different give me a call.
We have done complete color changes and or custom graphics on the yellow that would look great.
I can send you some pics of our work. we are in Montgomery Al.

Color wrap

I am getting ready to do a clear wrap but it will be a light gradient lighter color on the top and body which will give it a custom paint job feel. Working on the color.

I have a 2013 Rt-S in yellow. It's the color I originally wanted when I first saw the RT. It's great for visibility but frankly, I'm tired of it.

Has anyone taken their Spyder to an auto body shop for a complete color change? How much was it? Should I trust a car shop to take care of my Tupperware? I just want a solid color...not a design. Maybe a high metallic red.

I don't even know where to start. I live in Picayune, MS and there's not too many auto-body shops around here.

I have never really painted much on plastic. Just metal fenders. I am wondering what it would look like with a candy translucent sprayed over the yellow. maybe a red candy.

This is my work. I don't like to paint but I can.

A Spyder rider in Louisiana had his RT custom painted to a sort of cherry red or what not. Bike looks awesome and I think he paid 5k for the whole bike. Here is a pic of his.

This bike is gorgeous. There was an RS bike at the owner's event this color. If you decide to paint, please post photos.

I am wondering if the fenders in the first and second picture I posted are the same color as the bike that was posted?

I would agree. I know of a MAACO owned by a guy that knows his stuff.

MAACO advertises a low-price "paint-job"; however most of their work involves more money and is far better than the advertised "special".

This owner does work for several custom car club members, of which he is a member of... so he certainly has the skill to meet the most critical of owners. Besides... he has to live with the member's result of his work.

However, as with any service industry... one needs to do their homework as not all are created equal. You do not want an inexperienced 18 year-old kid painting your "stuff". At least I do not.

REGARDING THE CANDY RED SPYDER PICS: I saw that bike in person in Spyderfest 2013. It was an incredible paint-job. Not sure of the cost of the paint-job versus the custom parts; but as I said... it was impeccably well-done.

It does reside in Canada... so said the owner (if it is the same bike). The custom parts were also made in Canada according to the owner. Too me, it was the best looking Spyder I have seen up to and after that point.

I had this done to the engine cover to my 2012 Optima SX and it has held up extremely well. considering doing something like to the entire 2014 RT Limited. the wife really wants something blue so we will see.

Me....finally picking up my Spyder from the shop.

My bike has been in the shop for the last 4 weeks for the recalls (Why did it take 4 weeks, you ask? Typical Can-Am service complaint...slow, no parts, one tech and he had to make sure the floor models got fixed first...yeah, seriously...that ACTUALLY told me that. I'd rather have been lied too).

Anyway, in person, the Yellow is pretty awesome. But I still think I want a custom color. Thanks for everyone posting. Cruzr, I'll call you before I make any moves...Montgomery is only a few hours away. ;)

Why settle for just one color
