• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Something like this is what you need.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DEI-Exhaust-Header-Wrap-1-x-15-Black-Turbo-Manifold_W0QQitemZ370052565639QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item370052565639&
You'll also need some stainless steel wire ties. I picked mine up at Harbor Freight. I bought 2 inch stuff the first time and found out that it's harder to go around the turns with out it binding and puckering up. It helps too if you soak the wrap in water first. Wear some leather gloves covered by surgical gloves. Other wise you're going to have itchy hands and arms from the fiberglass! Pick either the back or the front of the header to start the wrap and hold it with a tie. Then start wrapping and adjusting how it overlaps so it looks good and covers in the turns. It will drop the tempurature a couple of hundred degrees at least.
Enjoy!

Got any pics? I Got heat but it is on the right side.Noticed last week when riding in our heat wave of 90. Right leg got very hot on back country roads going about 45-50.Theres a topic about heat on the other site,Can-Am talk.Guess im not the only one experiencing this.Guess this was a issue on the demos, and they did something about it.You know i like backroad riding and out here in Oregon coast territory, where we have alot of backroads you can travel 45 or so without impeding traffic.I hope i can some up with a solution to this burning leg problem in the 90 degree weather at 45-50 cause i sure hate driving fast all the time, BRP are you listening?

I wrote about the heat issue that I experienced on that forum and I am very interested in this option as well! How much of this Header wrap is needed to complete the job? Is the 15' good enough? Is it recommended to use this heat spray as well as the wrap? As soon as I get some more information on this I will be ordering! Things must really cool down when I purchase the Hindle along with the performance filter!

I'm not the greatest with this kind of geometry, and someone who does alot of plumbing wrapping will have an faster way or will correct my accuracy, I'm sure, however, here's a calculation I think will estimate pipe wrap required:

turn diameter = 2 * tape thickness (in inches) + outside diameter of pipe (in inches)

3.14159 x turn diameter = length per turn

total length of wrapping = length per turn x 1.25 x linear length of pipe (in inches)

Of course, from what MrChet and id271 wrote earlier, it's not that expensive, but, hey, why waste $ that you can spend on fuel?!

Exhaust wrap is available at most Checker auto parts or sibling companies, they also have a few colors of 1200' paint because the wrap is usually sandy brown. Racing shops often carry all colors and a few widths. Precolored wrap coloring often fades quick and is does often stain the exhaust pipes if you decide to remove it. You can use stainless steel safety-wire too if you don't want to spend the money of stainless zip straps.
