• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Embarrassing confessions about those of you I see at Spyderfest

I am Scotty...and I look exactly like my avatar, in case you have trouble putting the name with the face. :roflblack:

Hubby and I have the same problem. We are both horrible remembering people's names. We'll look at each other and ask if either one of us remember that person(s) name. Nope, not a clue. We do the same thing by seeing if we can mete out any significant info from the conversation. I am at awe when the people I work with greet a customer by name, and know their first and last name. I can't even begin to figure out where I saw them before! Don't worry, we all suffer from some affliction or another. No offense taken if you don't remember who I am, I'm still trying to figure out who you are.

I can relate to all of the above, 11 years in Naval Aviation and a few more with civilian contractors working on military aircraft, riding motorcycles, and shooting weapons has given me tinnitus also.
The wife has been able to bail me out of many memory loss situations..

I have had Staples make up a batch of 500 business cards with a picture of our Spyder and our names, location, phone and E-Mail. Wish I would have had the forethought to add my Spyder Lovers identity.

If you are a Spyder person, in or around North Carolina, I may have handed you one.

Hello my name is ___________________....this is what we all should do to Lamonster....and really get him mixed up....so when you see Lamonster...walk up and say.....Hello...My name is __________

Finally people like me...mostly old!!

I am looking forward to meeting a bunch of motorcyclists my age and older! Clue: in the next month I have to decide to apply now or wait for SS benefits and decide what insurance coverage I will get with my Medicare (or is it Medicaid?). I think we all of some ailment or slippage in certain areas and but I would think you should just be glad you know HOW to get the SF, CAN get to SF and keep doing what you love to do, ryde. Hope I get a chance to have you forget my name during the four days (or is it five?):dontknow:
No problemo here.

We just finished putting all 900+ name tags and badges together at Spyderlady's house. So, it should be easier to read everyone's name when meeting them. They'll be on a Neck lanyard.

.......have hearing loss and tinnitus too. Surprisingly what got rid of it was wearing hearing aids. Was told when I got them that it would eliminate the ringing, and sure was surprised when it did.

As for not remembering names, welcome to the club. Years ago when I was single I forgot a girl friends name, and to most non-appropriate moment too :yikes:. Fortunately for me she understood my memory issues.

Me too!! I spent a small fortune on hearing aids.....about $3000 US....and not only did I have to listen to all of the music I'd bought in the last 15 years again but also my tinnitus reduced significantly.
My memory recall works intermittently but never when I need it too!
So Lamont don't despair we're all of an age where these things seem normal! As for the 70s......what were they??? I think I must have missed them!! ;)

Well, bless your hearts! :bowdown:Thank you!

Is that a pink/purple scooter or is my monitor color off ????????????

Now, there is a guy that's secure about his masculinity.

It is a 1960 Honda "Tokyo Rose" Benly Touring. It is unrestored. That's the factory color. Mine is the fifth one that has been found...and arguably the best original ever discovered. A couple more have been found since, as well as some "pink" Dream Tourings. As far as my masculinity, I'm not sure even a girl would ride this one. :roflblack:

Lamont you are not alone Bro! All those years of riding and working without any ear protection, that is the way things were. It took quite a few years before anyone realized all the damage that was being done to their hearing. I wonder how the kids today will be in the future, all of them running around with earbuds on cranking up the music? I hope they will be okay? We are all getting old together hopefully! ;) Hang in there Bro! We can only do our best! Ride safe! Denny

Not fair!! You have a valid reason for what ails you, some of us wish we did.....and don't.
You're a good guy Lamont and that's all that matters to any of us.

You guys are so totally awesome!:bowdown:

I just wanted to let you know that I am really bad with remembering names, even the ones I know well. My mind seems to be blanking out more than usual and even though we may have met several times before I may not remember who you are or your name. A lot of times I just stay with the conversation hoping it will come back to me. I know this is somewhat disrespectful but I mean no disrespect and it's not that you're not that important to me, you are. So if I look a little lost when you come up and say hi it's because I am, I guess the 70's were a little hard on me and that part of my memory seems to be fading quick. :opps:

I might add that I'm hard of hearing and have sever ringing in my ears so I do a lot of lip reading and try and figure out what your saying by putting the rest of the conversation together. So if you ask me a question and I give you some off the wall answer it's most likely I didn't hear it correctly and took my best shot at it. I honestly never planned on living this long and my past lifestyle has caught up to me and it really bothers me because I love people and if I could have two wishes it wouldn't be for fame or fortune, it would be for the ringing in my ears to stop and that I could remember everyone's name when I meet them.
