• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Elka Stages, which one is right? How much one can afford?

I wanted more than the stage 1s, but not as much as the stage 5s. Was looking at maybe the stage 4s (why are there no stage 3s?) but cowtown gave me such a good deal on the 5s that what I ended up ordering.

With so many stages of Elka shocks, how does one decide which to purchase? Is the decision money driven? How is one "stage" better than another.

I've been wanting to ask the same question. I 'm sure others have swell. I look forward to the posted description. Will the Elka's help keep the tires planted in the twisties and hopefully keep the nanny from ruining the fun. I am still working on riding style, my background is mostly large atv trail riding, I wish i could get the Spyder to powerslide.

Len fixed us up with Elka's for the front of our 2011 RT SE5 and it was like getting a new Spyder again. We did not go with rear shock.

I can't wait to ryde ours again.

Am I correct in that you have a 2010 RT?? Would there be that much gain in a 2012?

Well I see that you've ordered,Congratulations!!!

(If I were to have answered your question I would have stated,"If the 2012 did not come with Elkas...it should have!!!")

I did get the rear as well.

Here's a question: I installed the Fox shocks up front on my RS, but kept the stock rear shock.

Trouble is, the new shocks up front are *too* good for the rear setup now, i.e. the rear is the "weak link" on my bike now.

Since Fox doesn't make a rear shock for the Spyder, does it make sense to buy an Elka rear shock by itself? Which option would best pair with the Foxes up front?

Elka Shocks

We had the Stage 1 Elka shocks installed at Cowtown in November 2011. Len and his staff recommendations were very helpful. Did not replace the rear shock.
