• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Elka Shocks came today

Got it, and thanks to everyone who replied. I feel a bit stupid lol. I am willing to bet my dealer would have done the same thing though. I saw nothing in the documentation that came with the shocks so I made the mistake of assuming they should be installed in the same position as the stock shocks (Spring up). Guess I need to read it all again.

I can't wait to get these installed correctly and get the full benefit. Gonna tackle turning these around this week.
 
It took us a few stops to get the ELKA shocks set up for my wife, Barbwire. We first adjusted the spring load, stiffen the spring. Took it to 4 ¾’ and then worked on the rebound. They were set at 25 and backed them off to 20 and she is a happy girl. Check the hex head wrench and make sure it is the proper one for the shocks. The one we got with the shocks was not and I had to buy a set on the road to make the adjustment. You will also need to adjust your headlamps. BTW we had 2011 shocks on her RT and she says these are much improved from them.


I checked the hex head wrench that came with my Elkas as you suggested. The same as you wrong size so I guess a trip to the hardware store today is now on my list of things to do.
 
Flipped them over and they improved the ride tenfold. Thank to this forum and the kind folks who frequent it, I am a very happy spyder ryder :)
