There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Electric power socket on handlebars

I want to install a power outlet on the handle bars of a 2014 ST-S and am puzzled about how to run the wires.

I have the Lamonster SpyderDock with 12v CIG/USB socket and want to mount it on a 2014 ST-S. Mounting the dock itself is simple enough, just replace two of the handle bar mounting bolts with the supplied parts. What I am puzzled about is how/where to run the electric wires. I do not see any openings or convenient places to get the wires under all the plastic. Any thoughts or ideas of what to do?

Sorry about the bold in my first post, still learning how this forum works.

Hi Skip. Sorry to see that know one has replied to you. Probably because it's posted on the ST forum and as many people view that forum.

I recently installed handlebar extensions that required me to loosen the wiring harness that goes to the grips. It was not an easy job but I think you are going to need to approach it the same way. I would start by taking the left side Tupperware off first. From there, look for the wire path from the grips and see if you can follow that path for your new wires using tie wraps. If you're lucky, you just might get by with only doing that.

Hopefully, someone with more experience at doing this stuff will reply with a better answer as I also want to install a Spyderdoc in the near future.

Good luck.

Bruce,

Thanks for the reply. The Spyder is my wife's, I am just the owner and mechanic.

I think I have come up with a solution. I am prepping the Spyder for a 700 mile solo trip the wife will be taking the second week of June. If my solution works I will post the results.

Pop the center cap off the handle bars. You can then run the wires down the middle. Just like the GPS wires would have been run if your model had it.
