There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
Very cool concept and I think electric motorcycles will be fantastic when the technology improves. This thing is $12k and has very little in the way of range or highway usability. They're getting closer, but not quite to the point that'll really get me to think about getting one.
That and the 33" seat high really ruins it for me.
In theory, some of these electrics allow you to generate as much as 400ft lbs of torque. Problem is, the batteries for these devices are heavy and way too pricey. We're close though.
Not a fan of this or the Zero but we're very close. Thanks for sharing!

I don't know how close we really are. Until there is a different battery capability, the weight and charge will always be issues. A bike is easier than a car, but it's still an issue. If you look at the advances in hybrid technology, not that much has changed in regards to the traction batteries.
We need a major technological breakthrough.
Only recently can lithium batteries be used as Honda or someone figured out how to keep them cool enough. NiMH is what is mostly used. Even still, lithium is not the answer.
Probably a little too much testosterone caused a lack of judgement while doing this stunt . Its happened to the best of us at one time or another, hopefully not as bad as what he did though. pps:
I honestly can't understand what he was thinking...he even said...I'm the designer and builder, not the rider AND this is the most dangerous motorsport.
