• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Eco mode or not?

I did a 340 mile trip yesterday. I decided to test the ECO mode.

On the first leg, I used ECO mode for 170 miles. It was very sluggish riding this way. At the end of the 170 miles, I topped off the tank, did the calculations, and found that I had gotten 33.57 MPG

On the 170 mile return leg home, I didn't use ECO mode. I topped off the tank, did the calculations, and found that I had gotten 38.86 MPG

Conclusion: ECO mode sucks.

what type of fuel are you running? It can make a big difference

Chevron premium. The highest octane available in Arizona is 91.

What does that have to do with the difference in MPG while using or not using ECO Mode? I used the same fuel in both instances. :dontknow:

I figured it out today as well as the cruise control. Right now Im just figuring out how to navigate curves better etc...then I'll worry about Eco or not.
Went to DPS with my class certificate and now I'm legal.

I'm glad you took the class and got your endorsement. :clap:It should be a requirement in ALL states.

What is the technique one uses to get 41 or so MPG? I get 25 at best. I stop a lot.

We are talking 1330 three cylinder engine here.

Me, always shift up at 3,000 rpm. Keep the :spyder2: in that happy range. I let the :ani29: downshift on its own. I burn premium gas (here 90 octane). No ECO mode. I don't race to see how fast I can get up to speed--but akspyderlady says I do.

I consistently get 39 - 41 mpg.

The altitude where you ride will affect your gas mileage. ECO mode....hmmm I will be 83 next month and never remember I have it. I tried it once or twice....I think.....:roflblack:

Milage???

Milage??? Enough already.

ECO mode?? My other ride is a Yahama V-Max and I've had a Kawasaki ZX-11 in the past-----Do you think I use ECO mode???

When we need a lively discussion, we can add ECO Mode to oil, helmets, octane, tires, and guns. Many varied opinions for sure.

IMO they should just eliminate ECO mode and replace it with something more useful... like a gun turret. :roflblack:

My vote is to bring back the electronic frunk release. I think I have mentioned that a couple times. :roflblack::roflblack:
