There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Eco mode or not?

And the survey says.... Don't use it... I turned it off last night and yes I did feel more of a punch, performance boost or what ever, then this morning I turned it back on, I will turn it off for awhile and see how it does around town, etc then if I take a good high way trip maybe then turn it back on,, thanks again for all the replys.

Bradenton

Tried it first week on new F3 for about thirty miles and it appeared to dumb down the ride. The mileage currently achieved is sufficient and is considerably better than the 998. Funny story I've since tried to turn it on and it won't respond, I'll have it checked in the fall upon return home.

where you at in Bradenton? I live out east with a 2014 Limited.

Not much of a follower

I've been using Eco mode more and more and around here near so many careless drivers in or near the cities I am quite happy to cruise along and see what the best mileage I can get from the bike. 46mpg Canadian or 39mpg US. I only have 1800 miles and hope to see better than this.

My mileage without was 39. Got 40 with it on. WARNING: your mileage may vary. :roflblack:

Use it on long trips

I have 2 riding styles. When I'm alone, and when I'm with the wife. I like for my wife to be comfortable an not stressed out. So when she does ride with me, it's normally on a long trip, highway miles. Having it on ECO mode the throttle isn't as responsive so that makes for smooth slower progression towards highway speeds, good for when my wife is onboard. Also, I get better gas mileage. From what I noticed, 31 MPG no ECO, 38 w ECO. Now for everyday riding...back and forth to work and cruising alone, normally not on ECO mode. I like the fast acceleration/throttle response. Fun fun fun....

Fuelly is pretty good at tracking my usage. Steady increase in mpg's. It's hard to use Eco mode cause normally I am pretty aggressive in the 2500 HD 6.1 litre. I am trying to tone it down not being very big on the road. Learning to back off a bit.

eco mode

I tried it, and found that looking for the upshift arrow was diverting my attention from where it needed to be: on the road in front of me! :yikes:
I only saw a minimal increase in the fuel economy of the bike when using it...

Ran lotsa scenarios. In normal use around town my fuel mileage was 4% less in Eco than out of Eco.
On an extended trip on the interstates from Maine to Seattle, I drove multi tanks of fuel in Eco and multi tanks out of eco. While in eco and in cruise the fuel mileage was improved by 4%.Now that is the only time I use it. For normal riding the eco mode makes for poor throttle response and it is in the changing throttle settings that makes it uneconomical to use Eco mode.

I tried to like it, but....

I did a 340 mile trip yesterday. I decided to test the ECO mode.

On the first leg, I used ECO mode for 170 miles. It was very sluggish riding this way. At the end of the 170 miles, I topped off the tank, did the calculations, and found that I had gotten 33.57 MPG

On the 170 mile return leg home, I didn't use ECO mode. I topped off the tank, did the calculations, and found that I had gotten 38.86 MPG

Conclusion: ECO mode sucks.

Yes I have found out that it seems like I am worse gas mileage with the eco on riding and stopping and going again in town, I'm gonna turn it off, and the machine response is much better and probably get better fuel mileage, I haven't filled it up yep and track, but the next tank fill up I will start keeping track
