• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ECM upgrade failure

Has anyone had the upgrade fail during installation? The shop was performing the upgrade when the message appeared saying upgrade failed. Now they can not start the 2013 RTS and BRP is closed for Good Friday.

Not uncommon and not just limited to BRP, it does happen from time to time. Sucks your sitting til Monday though.....

Char disliked the situation...
I'm not too happy hearing that either.
They have nobody to answer a real serious question; because they've shut down??
Holiday or not; that's unacceptable! :gaah:

Yeah . . . because no one would be riding their Spyder on the first holiday weekend in Spring . . . :gaah:

Update on the ECM failure

:sour:the tech at the dealer won't give up and finally found the problem. One of the leads in the cable going between the Computer and the CAN AM had broken. He repaired the cable and was able to do the update. This was good because if I had to wait till next week, I would have had to had the wife drive 60 miles to pick me up and then back when the RT was repaired.

Great..!!

Love a story with a hapoy ending. Glad you had a dedicated tech, to many would have thrown up thier hands and gone home...:ohyea:

I guess I should type more words....I dislike the situation...akspyderman...not directed to you ...sorry if you thought that...love you....but an update failure and no bike all weekend is a big dislike

Outstanding! I hope you remembered the tech with a little gratuity. When they go out of their way on mine, I always do.:D

I agree completely. I can't tell you how many times (yes I can 5) I have slipped a "Grant" or a nice gift card at one of our nice restaurants in the hands of my service tech when he busted his ass to go the second mile. Folks not only is it the "right thing to do", but it works wonders when you deal with these folks.

The USB on the BUDS system are real sensitive, if you move the cable at all it can lose the connection.
