• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just sold a watch on ebay for $800.00 and the fee's for this sale by ebay was 87.50 plus whatever Paypal charges me.:lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie: NO MORE EBAY

All true, but where else can you get the buyer reach of eBay?

I found the only consolation is if it doesn't sell. The cost to try is pennies.

I agree too.

You can complain about the fees but the reality of the situation is that nothing is free or even near free.
The incredible pool of buyers that eBay gives access to is certainly worth a 10% or so finders fee.

With so much on the internet appearing 'free' it is initially difficult to accept that things aren't free or nearly free but that simply is not the case.
PayPal fees are of course another bone of contention, but here you have a structure that guarantees payment between two parties which a few short years ago was simply unheard of.

So while no one likes to pay fees, it is both reasonable and justified, IMHO.

I maintain and extend mySpyder and SpyderCodes without compensation and while i plan to continue the fact that I am continually harangued for not having it available in every major language simply amazes me.

One person even emailed me and told me that if SpyderCodes were no made available in Spanish I would be targeted with "protests", whatever the hell that meant.

Sorry for the abuse you are getting. I know I would be standing in a long line of thankful people grateful for the time and effort you give!

 amazing... If you did; they'd probably expect you to show up at their house, and download it for them... :banghead::gaah:

Some folks just cannot be happy...

Let me know when the protest is planned . . . I'll ride up with some friends and coordinate the counter protest . . . :trike:

Thanks for what you do, Roger! nojoke

Was wondering what a $800.00 watch does that my $10.00 watch doesn't ????????? :p

Fee

Cheap! Just the cost of doing business. Motorcycles are 150, which is reasonable. Jmho, Joe

Maybe that's why he worries about fees; so that he can afford such a nice watch!

Don't you start today .............................. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: (insurance people remind me of lawyers) :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Nice watch! :2thumbs:

Which reminds me of a joke... :D

A Father asks his Son what he'd like for his Birthday.
"I wanna watch", was the reply...
"Well; It's okay with me; but I'll have to check with your Mother first..."

I tell people that "want" stuff for open source or free software is to send me a patch to review... never hear from them again.
