Eating Crow

Went on a 975 mile round trip that took me through Bryce Canyon National Park, Capital Reef National Park, Canyonlands (Needles District) National Park, Arches National Park and then back home to St. George. While at Canyonlands I went for a hike with the Spyder RT Limited parked in the designated parking lot. Came back from the hike and found a crow sitting in a tree close to the Spyder and found a hole in my passenger backrest the size of a silver dollar. It was obviously the handy work of the crow pecking at something on the seat or just liking the taste of the material and foam inside. Looking for help on two things now. First I am looking for a new backrest for my wife. My Spyder is a 2014 RT Limited and it has limited embroidered on the backrest. Anyone have one that they have replaced with something else that will fit my Spyder. Second I am looking for a good recipe for crow. Crockpot or barbequed on the grill.

Worst part is that the Spyder only had about 800 miles on it at the time.

A good upholstery person might be able to make the backrest look like new--give that a try.

Nearly all of the after-market seat vendors (Corbin, Ultimate) sell a back backrest.

We have the same problem with crows at a boat ramp. Park the truck come back crows had work on the windshield wiper pulling them off not counting the amount of bird deposit that they was so kind to leave. It got so bad that people stop using the ramp for awhile. This happen during the winter months when people wasn't using the ramp that much.

I went on a trip to the Florida Everglades a few years back and saw a car in a parking lot covered in blankets. We ask the store clerk about it and she told us vultures eat the rubber around the front and back windows. Worst I have had with my :spyder2: so far is aerial bombardment.

Recipe for Crow:
after plucking all feathers and discarding internals, use 1/2 lb of salt, 1/4 lb red pepper, 1lb chopped onion, garlic to taste, 5 tablespoons of ketchup & 3 lemons cut in half...
boil for 3 hours.. drain & discard liquid.. then throw away the meat... go to Outback for lunch...

at least you got even with the crow ... :roflblack:

:agree: Some one that has replaced the stock seat and passenger backrest with an after market one might sell you their OEM backrest.
Could look on E bay for a spyder passenger backrest from a crashed parted out RT.

Crow eating spyder...:roflblack: have a flock around here but fortunately they don't bother eating our vehicles. They do pig out on the fruit trees...better that than the rydes....:banghead: biggest complain is.....they are really noisy...:banghead:

Hope there is someone here willing to part with the backrest they changed out...

Another great crow recipe . . . pluck and clean. Marinade in beer for four hours. Place the marinated crow on a cedar plank and slow roast, using indirect heat on a barbeque grill for 35 minutes per pound at 225 degrees.

When you have an internal temperature of 170 degrees . . . throw away the crow and eat the cedar plank!
