• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Early RT production numbers

The 2008 GS PE Spyders are worth more in resale value than the RT PE editions, at least that's what I remember reading on this forum. I'm trying to remember who said it.......... :coffee:

You are absolutely right--AGAIN.:clap: I know who said it too. It is obvious that the GS PE is worth more in resale value. I have offered my RT-S PE many times for $40,000 to $45,000 and have not had a single taker. :(

Only the marked PE Spyders can have the last digits of the VIN# used to determine their production sequence. Every model designation, which means every trim version and color, has a numerical sequence for the last VIN digits that starts at #1, so you can only tell where in that particular model run yours occurred. For instance yours may be the fifteenth red North American RTS for 2011, but who knows where in the entire production that actually occurred? The numbered PE's were the first models produced for the GS and the RT, so they are the only ones that can be accurately pinned down. Even then, there were pre-production and prtotype vhehicle that beat them off the line if you want to get real technical.

Where can you find the key to interpret the VIN digits?

Probably someone selling a 2008 GS PE . . . or trying to buy an RT PE . . . :roflblack:

Apparently you can't even give away a 2013 RT Limited . . . someone was looking for chrome wheels for an RT S, and I offered to sell them my wheels for $30K and the 2013 RT Limited came with them, for free . . . I never heard back from him!

Sorry, I guess thats the way things work....... People knew that the PE numbers that were stitched in the seat was from a Spyder that came out two years later trying to mimic the real PE Spyders. People were not fooled by that marketing tactic and thats why the prices differ so much....... :coffee:

I am not aware of a key explaining the VIN codes. The alphabetical model ID can be interpreted by looking at the "Model Numbers" section (Section 00) of the BRP parts fiche.
