PRE-TRIP MEETING Gettin' close to our Durango trip! This past Saturday at our Conroe Chapter meeting we thought it would be a good idea to go over our plan. Twain unfortnately cannot join us for the Co. trip but was kind enough to pass on his itinery of what he had mapped out. This itinery will be leaving early AM on 6-18, stopping in Lubbock, Tuesday 6-19 onto New Mexico, Wednesday-Friday Durango, then leave Sat. AM, home Sunday 6-24. For those willing to meet up/take this route please join us Saturday, June 2nd @ 11AM at Chofa's Sports Bar & Grill. (Off 105 right past Home Depot) 2101 W Davis St, Conroe, TX 77304 #(936) 756-3658 .
AFTER RIDE For those not going to Durango but want to join us, can come @11 or come @ Noon. We will take off for an approx. 1 1/2 hour ride out to Chappell Hill Bakery & Deli. 8900 Hwy 290 E, Chappell Hill, TX 77426 #(979) 836-0910. If full from Chofa's...they have great pies, ice cream, etc.
When you reply if going to Durango please post what city you live in so we can come up with a central take off spot....also if going to Chappell Hill Bakery with us let me know so I can get a round about RSVP....they are going to save us some seats
:doorag:

Twain and I talked earlier about meeting up on the way. We'll be leaving Round Rock the morning of the 19th. Keep me posted on your route plans ... we may still be able to caravan to Lubbock, Albuquerque and Durango.

Hi Bob,

Correction....We will be leaving Round Rock the morning of the 18th for Lubbock, then the morning of the 19th heading to Albuquerque and on the 20th hitting Durango. I hope that is still your schedule, so we can ride to Lubbock together? Let me know.

Thanks,
Sue

Durango Trip

Is there any reason why we couldn't leave the Houston area on Sunday, June 17 and ride to the Killeen-Temple area? We could then meet up with the folks riding up from Austin/RoundRock on Monday. We add one night lodging for Sunday night, but it breaks up the trip into more logical chunks:

Sunday June 17 Houston to Temple on 290/36
Monday June 18 Temple to Lubbock
Tuesday June 19 Lubbock to Albuquerque
Wednesday June 20 Albuquerque to Durango

What do you guys think?

Sue is right, of course:). I can read maps but not calendars, hahaha! I still think there's opportunity for the TX contingent to meet up west of Dallas somewhere and ride together. Let's just continue to plan openly and tailor our routes.

Hi Schnauzer,

I would have loved to be at the meeting this Saturday, but have to go San Antonio to pick up my bike. Our plans are to leave the morning of the 18th and stay over in Lubbock, then on the 19th leave early am for NM and spend the night, and on into Durango on the 20th with the big group. The Hawk will be staying out in the area of Durango longer then us. We need to head back on the 23rd and will probably go as far as Lubbock again if anyone wants to ride back with my husband and I, please let us know. We have to be back at work on Monday!:(

We look forward to meeting all of you and hope that if we can meet up in Lubbock or somewhere along the way. Since our reservations have already been made and I have had to change them twice already. They will remain the same for our lodging and travel plans. Sorry, SiennaBob....It just doesn't make any sense for us to go to Killeen or Temple area on the 17th and this is fathers day too. If you would like to stay somewhere in Round Rock/Austin area we can head out together the morning of the 18th? Would love to have you join us and for us...this breaks it up nicely as far as miles and this will be our very first long trip.
Looking forward to meeting all of you from TX....See you soon

As things stand right now, I'm going to try to make your Saturday meeting and the ryde back to Chappell Hill. Should be able to nail down all the trip details.

I'm putting Lucylle in the shop Wednesday for a shifting problem but I expect to ryde her home:shocked:.

I'll confirm my plans later this week.

tnx,

If you guys can't make it to the Bakery in Chappel Hill, don't worry. We'll get out the trip info and where we plan on being along the way. Hopefully we can nail down some definate time frames to meet up..

Lucylle and I rode home from the dealer together ... and all Saturday conflicts are resolved ... so I plan on seeing you in Conroe Saturday morning and catching the Bakery on the way back.

tnx,hawk

Cool, cya then. Looking forward to meeting up. Not sure if you do Facebook, but we have started a page there for posting any and all rides no matter who or what they are. You never know when someone has a wild hair up their :yikes: and wants to ride..Gulfcoast Spyder Ryders.. look for the Groupnot the profile.. Spydette got confused and made a person out of it 1st. Can't delete it..not yet anyways.. I bet if I posted some porno on it, FB would delete it for me.:roflblack:..

I don't do FB ... but I like your idea! Bet it wouldn't take them long to react:roflblack:.

See ya eleven-ish tomorrow.

Thanks for the great day and making me feel welcome. It was great to meet everyone and I'm sure I'll fall flat on trying to remember everyone's 'handle' along with their name ... but it was truly a great day; good food, good weather, good fellowship and good getting to know the ryding style of the conroe spyders as we head to Durango.

I feel the countdown beginning even as I type:D!!
