• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dumb question - accelerator

 You need to have a talk with him about his riding habits...:chat:

Either that; or have him ride on your passenger seat! :D

If you are acquiescing and staying in the back consider this. I have a thumb problem and if I hold a throttle too long my thumb loses all feeling except pain, and the skinny grips on the Spyders don't help.

I got the Kuryakyn clamshell grips that go OVER the existing grips. They're very fat and allow me to grab the grips "mitten" style with my thumb on top of the grip.

That fear you feel at giving women ideas... well, that's the special ops part of you talking. You know when you're in trouble. LOL Kidding. Seriously though, yes I do have the problem of holding on a bit tight, still. No matter how hard I try I still end up with the not quite white knuckling. With my left hand if I'm doing that I can relax and remove my hand and just stretch out. Harder to do on the throttle side. But I will definitely practice your idea and see if it helps. I don't really WANT to have to buy something to help with throttle when I have a freakin' cruise control, but unless I take the lead and then listen to hubby complain about my every move, the best bet is for me to stay in the rear. Yes, he's a control freak, but then that's what we AF people tend to be, right?

Thanks for the morning smile :D. And thank you so very much for your service to our country. That's from a Retired Major/former Sgt and proud father of an active duty TSgt.
Maybe try a pair of vented and slightly padded riding gloves. Here is another suggestion--a Spyder for your man.

Get the equivalent of the Kuryakyn Throttle Boss!
Most MC dealers and shops carry generic models that will fit "most" brands

Ok guys, time for a dumb question. Got the RT-S, so obviously I have cruise control. The problem is, hubby rides in front of me and has no ability to ride at a smooth pace, so the cruise control is USELESS when we're together. Soooo the question is, how do you keep your hand from hurting on long rides when not using cruise? We rode 4 hours total the other day - which wasn't a problem, except toward the end I started having trouble with my hand getting tired. I was fidgeting a bit due to back issues too - but that's another story. I'm working that one out and have an idea how to fix that. But the hand - I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

I'm joining this conversation a little late but I just returned from Spyderfest. I led, using my cruise control, and was followed by a Spyder RS (no cruise) and my husband on a Honda ST1300 (no cruise) If you've got the cruise you should be the leader!!!

cruise

Tell your old man he had his chance and blew it:shemademe_smilie:
You ride in front:roflblack:
Or if he has the GPS and you don't, then just set the cruise at an average speed and let yourself fall back or gain on him automatically until he gets the hint and maintains a constant speed.
