• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dual Camera System

Often thought about a dual dash cam system for my RT but the cameras all where either to big, low resolution and poor recording quality. Found this dual cam system on Amazon the other day and just could not resist. There are several videos on youtube.com for the K1S dual dash cam but none for installation on a Motorcycle. I posted a slide show of my installation https://youtu.be/fPJaf-jQ5GU and I am pleasingly surprised of the outcome.

The cameras are not moisture resistant however the front is fairly well protected and the rear I added packing tape around the outside to cover the microphone.

Got any sample recordings you are prepared to show us? Just a minute or 2 would be good.

Ps, the 10 second display in the 1st vid is probably a bit long for 'comfortable viewing', anyone watching will spend a lot of time thumb twiddling while they wait for one scene/slide to fade into the next, even on those slides with text. The whole effect of some (ie, the 'now you see the cables - now you don't' bit) was quite excruciating, even tho I was very interested in seeing the whole process. (Submitted as constructive criticism seeking to improve an already reasonable product that could've been great!)

Here ya go Peter Aawen, took me a few days to learn the format, in any case here are another 5 minutes of your life that you will never get back.

Bewdy!! Thanks for that

How often do you need to download the recordings before it starts over-writing or craps out??

I have a 64 gig card in it and it's good for about 20 hours before it overwrites the older files however you can go up to 128 gig. My main intend for this camera system is to document any worthwhile events, with each camera writing it's own file. When parked I can turn one or both cameras 360* if needed.

It certainly looks like one of them will remedy the shortfalls I have with my current Navman Saf-T-Cam - one camera & a total of about 3 hours memory before over-writing the earlier 1 minute records! It records everything in 1 minute long bites & when the storage is full, simply over-writes the earliest records first, but quarantines any record I mark by pressing the button (saves 20 seconds before the button press & 40 seconds after) as well as any similar record triggered by the G-sensor activation, which should pick up any accidents.

Sounds like it should be OK for a 1 camera set-up doesn't it?! Buuut, it seems the combination of our Aussie roads & my riding style are just too much for the G-sensor; even on it's most forgiving setting, any corners or braking immediately triggers the G-sensor & quarantines that recording as an 'accident', rapidly filling the storage & effectively meaning that it won't record anything new because the memory is filled to over-flowing with erroneously quarantined records!! And it only works one way!! The camera is currently set up recording ahead, covers almost 180 degrees from the centre top of the dash, good quality during the day, not quite so good in the dark; altho I'm very aware of what's going on behind me that a momentary lapse in concentration could turn nasty - but the safety cam just won't get that even if it had memory to store it in!!

So this 2 camera set-up you have looks to overcome my major issues with my current unit, & the installation looks pretty nifty too!!

Thanks for that, looks like it might just fit the bill! Might even look at getting one for the car too.
