• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

what gloves are spyder ryders using to stay dry? hoping to find some affordable GOR TEX gloves, any ideas?

In a real downpour, leather gloves are going to soak through and you will get cold and wet.

I carry a pair of actual waterproof gloves for that purpose. Try Ski doo gloves as one possibility.

I purchased a pair of Olympia gortex gloves and they kept my hands dry in 320 mi. of rain. I purchased them at a Honda dealer 54.99.

I have an old school method that I still use. Wear whatever gloves you find fit best etc and then put a pair of .99 cent mechanics or surgical latex glove over them. Absolutely water and blood proof, cheap (my personalfavorite characteristic) and takes up no bulk so easy to store.

I a pair of oversized heavy rubber gloves over my regular gloves. They have never let me down.

I know other bikers who use latex gloves underneath their regular gloves. It keeps their hands dry, but the outer leather gloves still soak through.

It doesn't work for me. My hands sweat so much they get soaked quickly in the latex or nitrile gloves if worn underneath. I wear large rubber gloves over my leather ones. In warm weather, I wear neoprene fishing gloves. The hands may still get wet, but they stay warm.

OMG Can -Am has the best gloves on the planet for spyder riders. I have 6 pairs. Five different types, I have two pairs of leather respirator gloves I love, 1 pr mesh summer gloves, 1 pair mesh fingerless gloves 1 pair soft shell touring gloves for the cold. Now for the glove you need to stay dry is the " Sympatex Glove- this baby is wind & water proof, and guess what you can still work the gps, turn signals, and pick your nose. It is the most awesome touring glove. Goes on and off easy, its not cheap, but you owe your hands the best, they do so much for you and ask little in return. I always travel with my gloves, so if u r in Durango and want to try them on and have a 3 3/4 inch hand, look me up.

I agree with Scotty that latex or rubber gloves will become too clammy and your hands will end up wet anyway. Geri and I are going to try Aerostich's waterproof overglove. It's designed to go on over your regular gloves, has a long gauntlet that can go either over or under the sleeve of your riding jacket and they pack up into almost no space at all: http://www.aerostich.com/aerostich-triple-digit-covers.html.

With the probability of afternoon thunder showers in Colorado I'm sure we'll get to try them out in June if not sooner.

:roflblack: I had ordered a pair, too, but I didn't want to comment until I had used them. Great minds think alike!
